Prejudices online

Mostly venting! I've been on a frugal loop for over a year. Over 100 emails pass through our loop daily. Most of these women are Caucasian(95%). They share tips, recipes, I share tips, recipes. Race never came up until yesterday, when a woman on the list made a comment her adopted daughter was half Hispanic, but didn't look it. Well this didn't sit right with me, so I made a comment would she love her any less if she did look 100% Hispanic. Well since then I got 3 hate emails calling me a "N". Even the moderator implied maybe I should unsubscribe. Have anyone else ran into this crazy mess online. I was totally shocked. I could easily unsub, but I'll let moderator unsub me. That would be like saying "Blacks" don't exist.

I have encountered discrimination online.
I was talking on a chatline about Big Brother last year. There was a discussion about the black man Will "Mega" on the show. Well people online called him a nigger because the didn't like him. I was offended so I said , in a nutshell, dislike him, but don't use that term. As a result, I got a lot of hate email. So it happens. I responded to every one of those emails, with intelligent responses about being racist and the meanings of the word and so on.
They didn't write back.
I suggest you write the all back. And you stay on that chat-line.

I encountered racist comments in a chat a long time ago. I don't get upset...I realize that you never know who's on the other end of these computers. I guess even a monkey could be taught to type--so, that's why I don't take any of those people seriously. They usually don't have the gull to make similar comments in public or to someone's face...internet cowards.
