This is exactly why I chose to go to UMD instead of Wayne. That's some freaky shit.

Is US News now ranking the number of bodies found on campus?

I seriously doubt that you chose to go to UMD because of your fear of dead bodies on campus.

<-----brother goes to Wayne State, and he loves it.

Not a fear of dead bodies, but a fear of crime and going to a school a block away from Cass Corridors. Plus I like being able to walk to my car in the parking lot at night and not being scared shit less that a homeless man or prostitute will come after me. And you can't use the race issue because it's not like UMD is predominately white.

And if you don't believe any of that, ask PiKA how much I loved driving out to the Pike house and getting lost and even being in that area.

they let you into the Pike house?

Aww come on PM! It's not that bad down there. They even said there was no evidence of trauma. He could've died of an anuerysm or something. I work pretty much across the street from the Life Sciences building (like a block down). I've never been approached by any of the homeless folks and never experienced any crime of any sort while in Detroit. The Cass Corrider isn't even bad anymore. SW Detroit is WAY worse than anything around Wayne State/New Center or Downtown.

I myself have never had a problem living on campus, yet several of my brothers have had their car broken into. And the homeless have found their way into our house on a number of occasions, but what can you do other than kick them out as fast as they get in. And for the Corridor, well I have walked down that strip many times at night and never had a problem. The real scary parts of Detroit lie near the borders.

True, but I liked to take classes at night or later in the day and I probably wouldn't even have tried that there. And Rick... you're a guy so of course you wouldn't have any problems. The hookers even scare me.

^ all my crim. justice classes were evenings, and I never had a problem walking home in my 4 years there. It's safe as it can get around the WSU area. Dead bodies on campus is NOT a common occurance..I just hope it's not some1 I know :-(

the homeless are not that dangerous. I mean, sure if you leave items lying around or in your car....that's a different story!
