Can someone explain this to me?
So we got randomly drug tested today at work. So before I go into the bathroom the woman collecting the specimens asked me if I had any candy or mints or cigarette lighters in my pockets.
WTF? What do those things have to do w/pissing in a container? I wish I would have thought to say "No candy...just this spliff in my pocket." |
Maybe they were worried you might dip your candy or mints in your urine sample. Thats weird, I have never had anybody ask me that when I drug tested.
|
The last time I was drug tested, I had to remove everything from my pockets before going into the bathroom. They want to be sure you have no way of altering the sample (e.g. by diluting it).
It does seem odd that you would be asked specifically about those items, though... |
Maybe the woman was having a nicotine attack and didn't have a lighter. I guess the candy/mints could hold her over until she came across someone who did have a lighter.

You did bring your wizz-a-nator to work that day, didn't you?

Maybe......the sugar in the candy/mints would have neutralized your sample? Or if there was alcohol in your urine, you could have lit it on fire to burn it all out before you gave it to her..........
I don't really know what I'm talking about, but it sounded good, right? |

Well, how did she phrase it? Was she like, "Is that a cigarette lighter in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?" :D |

When I applied to work as a casual employee at the Post Office this Christmas, I wasn't even allowed to wear my insulin pump into the toilet stall. We had to go in with our pockets out turned. And there was dye in the toilet (which I assume was to verify that you actually went? I think?). They did the test right in front of you, and if you didn't pass, you didn't get an interview. Fortunately, nothing to worry about here.
