Greek Organization

Hello how is everyone doing? I recently had an conversation with my mom that I was interested in joining a greek organization. She was telling me all the bad things and doesn't want me to join an, greek organization. I told my mom about all the good things that they do, the community service, volunteer programs and fundraisers, and helping children to get a better education. But she still doesn't want me to join. I was wondering if anyone has been through this with their parents, and how did you handel it?

How old are you? Are you in college?

I had that conversation with my mother and she felt the same way but she told me that the decision was mine to make. Just be clear joining an organization takes time and money and if you don't have your own money that may also present a problem if your mother objects.

Her profile says that she's almost 23 and she's a college student. Although something about her profile and post seems funny to me. ::Shrugs Shoulders::

ETA: If you search her posts, she seems to be very...umm...I don't even know the word. Generic? She seems to have an interest in NPHC, and to have done some research on it, but still seems wishy-washy about it. Once again:

Our organizations are made up of human beings. We have our flaws true enough but the mission and purpose of our organizations is to do good.

Churches have bad things that happen inside those walls, yet people still attend, right? :)

Best wishes.
