Bootlegged Frustrations
 

I know Alicia Keys is hot right now... and I know I'm late... but why is it that even my local bootlegged man (the street corner table I frequent in Brooklyn) is SOLD OUT of her CD? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Is anyone facing the same problem?

And when I finally found another table who has Alicia, hustleman had the nerve to try and charge me $7!

Alicia Keys is a hot CD but here in Chi-Town bootlegs go for $10 from hustleman on the street. Its a lucrative business. Now if its just the guy at school who has a burner..i'm not paying more than $5

Well at the flea market 1 guy has them 4 for $20. And yes, I'll buy on the rare occassion I go to the flea market.

I can't condone the "bootlegging" industry. I manage an artist and if I see her product on some guy's table selling for $5.00 a pop...there is going to be trouble. Although as an industry, the sales really do not hurt the more established artists, it really does hurt the new artists who are trying to chart on Billboard. BUY THE CD!

I understand your point, I really do. I know there are some people can support me in saying that it's rough being a broke college student. For me, it's all about saving money on products and services. Now, when the time comes that I have a great job (and income) I will not hesitate to buy the best of whatever I want, including CD's in a REAL store http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

If CD's were inexpensive, I WOULD buy them the legal way.

I personaly think bootlegs are fine..if you can find quality ones..cd's are too expensive, and half of them arent worth more than 5 dollars n.e way..LONG LIVE THE HUSTLEMEN AND WOMEN OF THE WORLD!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
