I got a new job
I am becoming a flight attendant with Mesa Air. I just found out Tuesday that I will be begining training on June 14. The nice thing is that it is in Phoenix so I do not have to go to far and my friend is going through training right now so she can help me.
I will either be based out of Phoenix :D, Charlotte :D (ASUADPI remember Robby lives there ;) ), Denver, Grand Junction, Chicago, Nashville, Houston, or Washington,D.C. So hopefully I will find out where i will be based pretty soon into my training so that I can find an AA to get involved in. If anyone knows anything about these places can you help me out? I am a Tucson girl who attended college in Flagstaff and don't do cold and SNOW very well. |
I can attest that Charlotte (generally) has pretty nice weather. I have been here for almost two years now and I have yet to see snow actually stick. (It has snowed, but not enough to even coat the ground). It's a pretty big city, but to me, it seems more spread out and less congested then other big cities. Traffic is always horrible uptown, and on the major interstates during afternoon rush. Out by the airport (near where I work) traffic isn't too bad on the major roads and light on the side-streets. If your going to be working at the airport, but prefer not to live in the actual city, you'll want to check out Fort Mill, SC or Rock Hill, SC for apartments/houses/condos. These areas are a quick commute, nice areas for the most part, and in SC, so they have cheaper gas and much lower taxes.
If you don't like snow and cold, you'll want to stay out of Chicago. It gets bitter cold there, and when I lived 2.5 hours south, we got our first snow in November and it stayed around until March. Plus, I'm not a big-city type person, so Chicago doesn't appeal at all to me. My only reason for going to Chicago ever, is to see musicals and fly out of Midway/OHare. |
I know baby :D
Carrie I'm so excited for you!!!!! I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for Phoenix though. |

CONGRATULATIONS and Best Wishes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Denver isn't quite as bad as you may think. Yes, we do get snow in the winter/spring months, but we have the largest number of sunny days per year than any other state. (I do believe) I think it is one of the healthiest cities in the nation, as well, because it is such a beautiful place to be and there are so many things to do outdoors. Not to mention, we have a very active Alum Association! |
