Foundation question

I was looking at the Sigma Kappa Foundation website. I was very impressed by the Scholarships and the Alumnae Heart Fund.

However, I did not see any mention of assitance to collegiate members who face themselves with similar financial emergencies.

Does the Sigma Kappa Foundation provide financial assistance to Sigma Kappa sisters still in college who have sudden financial crises that would otherwise force them to drop out of school? For example- death of a parent, major medical illness, natural disasters that result in loss of home, etc.

Or what are the options for sisters who find themselves in such a situation?

I do not believe that there are any programs to aid students but if you contact th foundation and ask or offer the sugestion maybe one can be developed. thanks!

The Sigma Kappa Foundation also offers the Sister to Sister Disaster Recovery Fund, which provides grants to both collegians and alumnae who are impacted by presidentially declared disasters.

Thank you for the answers!

I did read in the Triangle that Sigma Kappa began the Sister to Sister Recovery Fund.

That is fantastic for a sorority to have. It shows true sisterhood and support.

The Sister to Sister Disaster Relief Fund is amazing!! I do wish, however, that Foundation had some sort fund for sisters in serious need when the President doesn't declare their disaster as a national disaster...like a fire in their home or loss of parents. It would be nice! :D
