How Many Starbucks are there in your general vicinity?

There's TEN (TEN!) Starbucks in a three mile radius around San Diego State University that I KNOW OF.....

Can't any of you just brew your own coffee and spend save a shitload of money? Is the privledge of saying "venti" instead of "large" worth the dent in your wallet?

There are nine within 5 miles of my work (although the airport is less then five miles from my work, so that accounts for 2 or 3). I live out in the middle of nowhere (compared to Charlotte) so there's only 4 Starbuck within 10 miles of my home.

There's one one on either side of my office building

There's one near my office, but there are more Dunkin Donuts around (at least two within a 1 minute walk from my office).

I can think of 11 that I can get to within 10 minutes of my house.

valkyrie 05-05-2006 03:32 PM

I thought there weren't many around my 'hood, but according to a search on their website, there are 42 Starbucks within five miles of my house. The hell?!

I haven't been to a Starbucks in forever, because I'm the kind of coffee snob who likes to make my own coffee every day. They do make a mean soy mocha, though.

There is one in the mall, and one run by campus foodservice. The next closest are the two in Pullman about ten miles away. I don't count the campus one as it is only open during the school year and is in the dorms.

According to the Starbucks store locator on their website, there are 27 retail Starbucks within a five mile radius of my office.

There are 9 within 5 miles of my home way out in the burbs. The closest is in a Safeway store within a quarter of a mile.

Glad I don't drink coffee.

Valkyrie, that's what you get for living in the yuppy part of town. (Ducking now)

From my condo, I can walk to at least six Starbuckses in five minutes or less. And I don't even live on the west coast!

These are the coffee places (that I can think of) in the Yonge/Bloor/Avenue Road area in Toronto:

Starbucks: at least 6
Tim Hortons: At least 2
Timothy's World Coffee: 3 (used to be 4)
Second Cup: 2
Lettieri: 3

Whole Foods, Pusateri's (a family owned grocery store) and The Coffee Mill (the oldest remaining coffee house in Toronto, according to their menus) also sell coffee-to-go.

The closest one from me at school is an hour and a half...the closest one from home is about an hour and fifteen minutes. However, we have a much, much better coffeeshop like 10 minutes from my house...I'm not a huge Starbucks fan.

LOL but I live in the 'hood! Or it would be the 'hood if Denver had one.

SmartBlondeGPhB 05-05-2006 05:03 PM

There's one in our cafeteria about 1 minute walk from my office.

But then, this is their home......

But I rarely go there since I hate coffee. If I need a Chai Latte, I make a better one myself at home and I stop at the smaller place by my house (passed the Starbuck's) if I feel I must.

krystle 05-05-2006 05:08 PM

We have one ON campus, yes on campus...( along with two other dunkin donuts, and a mary lous super close ).

Other than that, I have no idea.

That's the point. All of the old "hoods" in Denver (Five Points, etc.) are becomming the new prestige zip codes. Kind of like Harlem -- but smaller.
