Celibacy
Have you ever been down that road? Would you date someone who was celibate or a virgin if you are not? Is it realistic to think that you can have a relationship?
Women-have u maintained your celibacy when the man wasn't the one who wanted to be celibate? Men-did you being celibate make the chickenheads go away? I have a good friend who is going through that right now...Also, another friend of mine dated her now hubby for 4 years and maintained celibacy(he was a virgin) till marriage... What are your thoughts? ------------------ The Epitome of Beauty, Style, and Grace, Always Exemplifying Good Taste, A Zeta Woman, A Finer Woman, That's Me! |
no...i do not think it is realistic...i am currently celibate and not dating...because i have found that the two more often than not do not go hand-in-hand...unless you are really in control of your sexual desires i would not even go there...if you know that both you and the man you are dating are able to control yourselfs...really...not just claim you can...then i don't see a problem...i have never been in the opposite situation...a man wanting to be celibate and me not http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif but i would respect that or move on if i felt i couldn't wait...not pressure him...i would probably think that he didn't like women though because even gay men get THAT look when they encounter me so...i dunno http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

From the age of 21-25, I was celibate. Not only that, I made a conscious decision not to date anyone. I decided to make that choice for personal reasons, and sticking to that pledge made it all that much easier to weed out people who weren't interested in me as a person.

On the other question, I have been in a relationship with a celibate person (virgin) before, and it made things much more passionate and deep because we were more creative and caring without all of that sexual baggage. It also made me take a major inventory of what I wanted in a relationship and why. I don't know, but sex, to me, is a very intimate thing, and it is a beautiful thing when a man respects it. It also usually means that he esteems his mate highly as well. [This message has been edited by TRSimon (edited July 05, 2001).] |
