On campus social events

Hi, I was just elected the social chair in my sorority and I'm looking for ideas for events our sorority can sponsor on campus for other students.

Any ideas would be a great help, thanks!

Are you asking for ideas for events that are open to the general student population (kinda like giving back to the college community)?

At Penn State, we have HUB late night which is a program where there are weekend activities provided at night as alternatives to drinking/partying. If your school has something like this, maybe you could talk to the school about sponsoring a new activity one weekend. If your school doesn't have something like this, maybe you could work with other orgs and the school administration to have a few activities for a particular weekend. If it goes well, the school might even be interested in having more weekend activites in the future. Some of the things that Penn State's Late Night Hub has done are:
arts and crafts tables
board game tables
texas hold 'em (no money involved, but at the end, you could use your chips to bid on prizes in an auction)
karaoke
open mic night (performances by students)
trivia game show (with prizes for the contestants)
caricature artists
local comedians
video game tournaments

At Penn State and at Pitt, the residence associations sponsored tons of activities for students. Some of the activities are:

pizza parties
movie nights
game nights
tie-dying (it was bring your own t-shirt)
mini-outdoor olympics
mini-international festival (different ethnic orgs were invited, some served food, some had arts & crafts, some performed songs and dances)
workshops about study skills, resume-building, and interviewing for jobs (there were speakers from career services and academic advising)
health & wellness fair (there were booths set up with info about health services, the campus police's late-night escort service, nutrition, eating disorders, mental health, flu prevention, safe sex, etc....they also got lots of corporate sponsors for the event, there were goodie bags with personal care products, free massages from the local massage school, free haircuts by stylists from a local salon, and a booth where you could pose for a milk mustache picture)

That's all I can think of for right now.
