Opening up a can of worms, but asking for it...
Hi all,
First, just a quick background before I drop the bomb and ask the "big" question: Our area council is made up of 5 city councils. Each city council is made up of anywhere from 6 - 9 chapters. The vast majority of members are in their mid-50's and older. We desperately need members in their 20s, 30s and 40s. Sooooo..... I suggested to the President-elect of our area council that we REALLY needed a website to solicit for new members. I offered to build the website free of charge, the only cost would be for the domain name and web hosting. The cost PER YEAR to each chapter would be $5 This has been presented to all the city councils, chapters, etc... and most really liked the idea, however, there have been a few members who have said that it wouldn't be worth the cost  ($5 per year per chapter). These few members further said that International has a great website for potential members and is full of information. Now I'm going to without my comments about International's website either way, and ask you all to comment (GOOD AND/OR BAD) as to your thoughts on International's website. So please... let me have all your "honest" opinions/comments regarding International's website. I giving a presentation to one of the city councils the first week of May and want to have some comments to give back to them re: International's website. |
There are other threads here that contain thoughts on the International website and so I'll sum them all up with this statement:
International has a poopy website desparately in need of a revamping with REGULAR updates of information.....:) |
International's website
I've just been to International's site because I couldn't find the website for my own local convention. I was surprised that International did not have an easily locatable link to all conventions. I'm a long-term user, and I couldn't find it.
Good luck--I think your idea of creating a website for your City Council is right on--that's how the younger people get information. |

Need the can opener first LOL
Hi there! Our Oregon Convention is listed with only a contact email, as I dont believe that the Council(s) who are providing the convention this year have an actual website. But the contact is there on the BSP International Website.
That is because the sister councils who are doing all the conventions have to contact International with the link, or at least a tad of information with a contact email if they dont have a website. If we want a contact or link for convention information, please ask the sisters doing your convention why there isnt a link or at least a contact on International website. Just Sister Thoughts |
