Thomas married in NO (People.com)
Save the Last Dance actor Sean Patrick Thomas married actress Aonika Laurent in New Orleans on Saturday, PEOPLE has learned.
The couple, who are both 35, had originally planned their nuptials for the fall of 2005 in the Big Easy – Laurent's hometown – but postponed the wedding due to Hurricane Katrina. Thomas, who has starred in Barbershop and on CBS's The District, and Laurent (Fantastic Four) decided to wait to get married until they could have their dream wedding in their favorite city. The couple originally met at a party thrown by Barbershop director Tim Story. This is the first marriage for both. |

They said she's an actress too...has she done anything big? |
I remember a wedding planner at a BNOBack meeting mentioned there was a "big" wedding to take place in the city, but was postponed b/c of the storm. I wonder if this was the wedding she was referring to.

Bow Wow Responds To Lil' Romeo And Master P.
Another story about Bow-Wack
Story The feud between Bow Wow and Lil' Romeo has intensified, as Bow Wow has responded to comments Master P made surrounding the two rappers' growing beef. Lil' Romeo's father, Master P, confirmed that the two rappers had crossed paths backstage at Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Award show, on April 1st. According to Master P, Bow Wow ran in his trailer and refused to talk about tensions with Lil' Romeo Now, Bow Wow has come forward to address Master P and Lil' Romeo. "I can't understand all this, but I guess that's how it is when you ain't getting no attention," Bow Wow told AllHipHop.com. "You can hear me on the radio all day, every day. You [Lil' Romeo] can't sell no records, and your daddy is on Dancing With the Stars." Lil' Romeo was apparently offended at the line on the song "Fresh Azimiz," where Bow Wow claimed to be making more money than an unspecified person's father. Romeo released a diss to Bow Wow titled, "Hood Stars." Master P also accused Bow Wow's success of going to the rapper's head. "I just think Bow Wow done sold a couple records and got real cocky, and forgot where he came from," Master P said in a previous interview. Bow Wow dismissed Master P's allegations. "The crazy part is the line that got them all bent outta shape was an old LL line ("The Do Wop from LL Cool J's 1987 album Bigger and Deffer). That shows how much they know about Hip-Hop." Bow Wow also countered Master P's challenge to a Pay-Per-View boxing match between Romeo and Bow Wow. "If Romeo wanna make some real money, come sign with me," Bow Wow said. "Then, he wouldn't have to pull these stunts 'cause there ain't No Limit over here." |
Bow Whack...
If you check crunktastical.blogspot.com or Concreteloop.com, you will see Shad Gregory Moss rocking a rhinestone-encrusted paw print T-shirt. Sorry, Bow, rocking rhinestones doesn't make you hard. Neither does having King Cockroach, oka the Carolina River Cricket man, writing your lyrics.
On the other hand, "bidnessman" Percy Miller needs to go somewhere. |
ST, it's only Monday. Those were it's Friday afternoon and my boss can KMA words. I saw Rome on 106 and Park recently and I didn't know that there was some sort of beef. They both need to sit down somewhere. Bow Wow, your momma gonna spend all your money and No Limit has been looking more like The Limited ever since Cash Money came on the scene. Two little boys trying to be men.

Beef at backstage at Nickelodeon? They can't be serious. This needs to stop. This could possibly end up in violence...you know like a cafeteria food fight or something.

College president's gains overshadowed by scandal
Monday, April 24, 2006; Posted: 10:21 a.m. EDT (14:21 GMT)
HOUSTON (AP) -- As president of Texas Southern University, Dr. Priscilla Slade was building a legacy -- nearly doubling enrollment, constructing new academic buildings and overhauling the financial aid system. Slade became a popular and high-profile president during more than six years at the helm of the historically black university, the alma mater of the late U.S. Rep. Barbara Jordan and other notables. But her accomplishments have taken a back seat to scandal. Slade was fired last week and faces a criminal investigation into her use of state money. She's accused of improperly spending $87,000 to furnish her home, $138,000 on landscaping and exterior improvements, and $56,000 on security related equipment and labor. Read The Rest Here ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This sounds like there is more going on here. At my alma mater, the president's house WAS owned (and an extention) of the univeristy, which would have included landscaping (the same guys that did our campus, did her home), home decor, and any improvements/renovations. Is this not the case for other HBCUs? |

I heard from a FAMU alumnus that the money to build that house came from a gift that Oprah gave to the University. Anyway, once she learned of what they did with the money she was furious and refuses to give to the University anymore.
