Why didn't she leave?

Poisoned Wife Predicted Her Death

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- About two weeks before her death, Julie C. Jensen went to a neighbor, shaking and crying, and handed over a sealed envelope. If anything happened to her, she said, he should give it to police.

Story Here

It sounds like she was really concerned. I don't understand why she stayed, especially if she loved her children so much.

I have a question, and I'm not trying to be rude, and this is not just for the OP either....

Why is this thread in the AKA Forum? Wouldn't it belong more in the News & Politics or ChitChat???

I see that in general, many BGLO forums post all kinds of random news stories and information, and most of the time welcome comments from anyone of any GLO/GDI affiliation, but why not just put it in a general forum, and not a GLO specific one??

Plus, there are some threads that other non-BGLO posters don't seem to be "welcome" in. Wouldn't that distinction be more clear if all the general free-for-all threads were put in the general forums??

Again, I am not asking to be malicious or rude or to belittle the OP (like I said, this is not necessarily directed at you SKEE) or anyone who does this. I'm asking a serious question.

WOW! She had a lot of "evidence" that he was intending to kill her. She should have left. Or her husband should divorced her. Divorce is easier to deal with than a parent's death.

Sad.:(

It's pretty simple. I didn't post it there because I don't read those forums. There is always drama on the general forums, especially when it comes to racial/political/social issues so I stay away from those forums. Plus, truth be told, I couldn't care less what the majority folks in the general forum thinks on any issue, so I post and read threads in the forums I do care about- NPHC forums.

Disclaimer: The expressions above, as always, are those of SKEEphistAKAte only and do not represent those of other posters on GreekChat, specifically those of BGLO organizations.

ETA: AlphaFrog, maybe you should start a new thread on your topic. A discussion about it will only interrupt the topic I started. Moderators feel free to move this response to AF's new thread, unless it is in the General Forums.

Right. She'd taken pictures of his lists and stuff. It's like she was more concerned with AVENGING her own death than PREVENTING it. I don't understand that. I can't even say it was battered women's sydrome, where she'd feel like she had to stay, because there was no mention of domestic violence other than this one incident. So now, her kids are left with a dead mother and an incarcerated-most-likely-death-row-inmate father...I don't get it.

Exactly @ the underlined portion. If I was married and suspected that my husband wanted to kill me, I would take my kids and run plus get a restraining order. She had tangible, concrete proof that he planned to kill her. Unfortunate.

God bless her soul.

It is also possible that she really did commit suicide and was trying to frame her husband.

I realy can't see any sane person just hanging around to see if she's right about someone trying to kill her.

I agree. It is so odd that this is the approach that she would take that I do understand their hesitation at allowing the evidence. It does kinda seem like she could be framing him, esp. the way that she emphasizes that she would never commit suicide b/c she loves her kids. I mean, wouldn't you love them enough to fight for your life so that they could have a mother around? I would be cautious to allow this evidence w/no option to counter or cross-examine the statements as well.

I agree with this. As CT4 stated, if I KNEW or had reason to know that someone was trying to kill me, especially when I was finding evidence all around, I would run FAR, FAR AWAY!

The whole story is crazy because she basically waited around to be murdered. I wouldn't have even been able to eat or drink anything in the house for fear of it being laced with antifreeze. And once I know that homeboy had syringes and I thought he would try to ambush inject me, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night.

If it is true that she was murdered, she must have been suffering from some sort of insanity to stick around. Poor lady....

When something doesnt look right, usually it is because it isnt right.

Something about this situation is really off.

That was my thought.

WOW@certain parts of SKEE's comment to AlphaFrog.

This story is quite interesting. It is a possibility that she did commit suicide. The article also stated that if she did, it would be hard for her to hide the evidence after the last dose. After all, they said they found no evidence in the house. I also can't see how someone would stay in a situation in which they know someone may be trying to kill them. I would've taken my kids and hit it. I know love is blind, but that's a bit much. I can't be with someone I can't trust. I feel if he was still grudging over something such as an affair then he would have left. Then again, everyone doesn't think the same way. I'd rather be alone than to be scared on a daily basis. Poor kids.

Overall, this is a crazy story. She told all these people this information including the police, and she still ends up living with the man and then dies. That just doesn't sit right with me. I feel things should have been done to prevent it. Things should have been investigated. Did she not have people that truly cared about her well being? Did she not truly care about her well being, her kids, and other people that would be affected?

It’s not guaranteed that her life would have been spared if she had left. I know this first hand. My aunt was murdered by her ex-husband. Not only did she leave him but she also moved and cut off communication with everyone but us (immediate family). We stopped having family functions in our normal locations and had all our contact (cell#s) changed. We went above and beyond when it came to protecting her. Crazy people have no limit to what they will do to find you and do you harm. He shot her in front of their youngest son's daycare on the oldest son's birthday.
