Gamma Zeta Alumni Update for Everyone
Hi everyone, first time poster, semi-long time reader. A lot of fellow alumni of the old Gamma Zeta chapter over at University of Mass. in Amherst read this board so I wanted to give everyone an update.
A small group of us have started to form an alumni group to help get Gamma Zeta started again. There has been an online petition started by members of the alumni group that I wanted to share to help gather alumni support; http://www.petitiononline.com/GZUmass/petition.html Anyways, they've got over 50 names in just a few days, so if you are a Gamma Zeta alumni or know someone who is (or even just a Lambda Chi Alpha that supports the cause) go ahead and pass on the information and sign it! Hopefully our nationals will get word of it and the process of getting Gamma Zeta back up and running will happen soon! If you are a Gamma Zeta alumni, I expect each and every one of you reading this to get up out of your chair and lend a hand. Great job by that group of alumni! Keep up the good work. And to everyone else, let's continue to make Lambda Chi the best fraternity ever. |
Alright U9A...
If any of you fellow GZ lums are out there reading this, sign that petition! |
I just signed the petition and I support the re-chartering of Gamma Zeta chapter of Lambda Chi Alpha.

I just wanted to say that the alumni working on this have been doing an excellent job. I have alrady received phone calls and emails from numerous alumni from my class looking for help and to get me to sign the petition. I also heard that they are planning a get together in Boston for the summer for all the alumni in the area.
If you take the time to read the petition, you will see how much Gamma Zeta meant to a lot of brothers. Hopefully this will show everyone just how dedicated Gamma Zeta really is and help to dispell some "myths" about our first chapter. One of the most heartwarming posts is #29. Bill Chevett unfortunately passed away a little while ago. Although I remember his composite picture, I probably only met him once or twice. He was a great guy. His wife Mary signed the petition on his behalf: 29. Bill Chevett by Mary Chevett "Chev" loved Lambda Chi. It was a very important part of his life. I, too, have very fond memories of events at the house. I support any and all efforts to keep the house open. Please let me know if there is anything I can do. This really just shows how much of an impact we have had. Gamma Zeta really did effect not only brothers, but friends and families as well. I hope everyone else on this board realizes that the LXA experience really is for life, not for 4 years. And any potential members reading this board, LXA WILL change your life, for the better. |
Received My copy of the letter.
Outstanding presentation. I am sure that there is more going on at UMass-Amherst than meets the eye concerning the Greek Life situation within the Greek Community and The University. A very lucky and nice touch on the Envelope Printing!:D  I truely hope that with the work that the Alums of Gamma Zeta are doing and will be doing in the future can do nothing but help Re-Colonize/Chartering of Our Revered Gamma Historical Zeta. Well "Grasshopper", the wheels are in motion. (Wax on, Wax off!) Keep it growing, The Light should never go out! In ZAX, |

Nicely said and I hope You and other Gamma Zeta Alums will come on GC and post. There is a lot to learn and any/many questions that could be asked and answered. In ZAX, My Brother. |
Hey everyone, quick update. Just got word that our national headquarters is aware of our efforts to re-colonize Gamma Zeta. Got an email from some fellow alumni saying several of the officers were sent letters and copies of the petition and that they would "look into it".
I know it isn't much right now but, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." |
As I have mentioned to GammaZeta, keep doing what You are doing and build Alumni interest and numbers who are willing to be involved.
I am sure if enough backing is built, it will make the interest greater. ZAX, |
