Are there any STD's here?

My best friend is in that org ;)

saw a flyer for STD at FSU-lit majors, right?

KSUViolet06 04-15-2006 11:10 PM

I'm in it actually. It's the English honorary society.

Even though I was an English major, this is the first that I have heard of it. I have to say, the immature side of me gave a little giggle though. :D :o

We did 2 Rho Chis to a group, and every time I see that acronym, I immediately flash back to my fellow Rho Chi, almost screaming, "Ladies! It is SDT, not STD!!!"

I had an ex-girlfriend who was president of STD... everytime she said it, I cringed.

Between having a name like STD or having a name like Tri-Kappa (yes, they exist and to my knowledge, Tri-Kappa is not evil), you just *KNOW* that both groups will have an uphill battle all the way, where PR is concerned.
Tri-Kappa is here: http://www.trikappa.org/

I heard the Tri Kaps pretty much killed off Mu Lambda Kappa.

trojangal 04-16-2006 08:02 AM

Yep..was a member at Troy. It's the honor society for English majors and minors.

Luckily for that group, the medical community is starting to change over to using Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) b/c it more accurately represents the illnesses...just a brief FYI, who knows how long it will take for that convention to become commonplace...

Why can't we just go back and refer to it all as VD again? I like VD much more than STD or STI.
