Time For You Wannabe To die in the barricade
Link to the Casting Call
Yup, they're reviving les miserables. Here I thought they weren't going to do it for another ten years or so. |
I'm surprised that they are reviving it so soon. Didn't it just close on Broadway like 2-3 years ago? A local high school did the musical (albeit cutting out one of my favorite songs Lovely Ladies) only like 2 years ago and I know that while a show is on Broadway the rights to the play are just outrageous.
I'm wishing that I am A) an equity actor and B) lived in NYC. I would soooooo try out for this musical. It is one of my favorites!!!!! |

I wouldn't know the rights if my life depended on it. All I know is that a local high school did it. It was in the newspaper. They began rehearsals in January and did the show in like April. I'm not sure about the rotating stage. I didn't actually have a chance to see it. I kind of didn't want to. I love high school musicals. I've been in so many, but I adore Les Mis and the thought of seeing people that might be good singers but were no where near "top quality" singing roles I love, I just didn't want the play to be ruined for me. Does that make sense?

No seriously, when my friends and I were depressed we would sometimes take the PATH into Manhattan, get rush tickets, and bawl our eyes out. |
Oh man,
Son gets his Equity Card in just a few weeks. He has five shows between graduation and the end of summer. This call is about three months too early for him. Maybe there will be a later call for chorus, etc. This is one of my all time favorite shows. BTW, several high schools have done it locally -- it is a special show, cut down and rescored for high school voices. |
