Kappa Psi chapter "coming out"
Sorry to crash but I was reading the news section of HBCUNetwork.com and ran across this article from NC A&T school newspaper, so I thought I'd share it.
Congrats to Kappa Psi! 17 join campus service fraternity By Erica Franklin March 22, 2006 http://media.ncatregister.org/vimage...35114-87-1.jpg “...1925 was the year of the light when founder Frank Horton tried to make things right...” echoed across A&T’s campus as hundreds of people anxiously awaited the 17 spring 2006 intitiates of the Kappa Psi chapter of Alpha Phi Omega to “come out.” Dressed in all black and hidden behind royal blue and gold masks, the initiates were the first to present themselves on the newly structured Holland Bowl stage. Lynch was initiated in the fraternity in spring 2005. “The members of Alpha Phi Omega were always down-to-earth people. I always observed them involved in the community and I wanted to be a part of that committment to leadership, friendship and service,” Lynch said. Read the rest of the article here |
Great story - thanks for sharing it! :)
Congrats to Kappa Psi! (And isn't that our own BlueNGold quoted later in the story? :D ) |

I am so sorry that I cannot make it to see Psi Phi's show, but the Kappa Psi show was off the chain. I really enjoyed it and they represented the frat really well.
Suprise, surprise, surprise on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University, Friday, April 21, 2006 at 8:25 pm on the block. A-L-P-H-A P-H-I Alpha Phi Omega till the day I die. |
I watched their 2013 probates. Good to see HBCU chapters probate. What are the relationships the chapters have with D9 greeks?

As for chapter relationship with D9, I presume you are talking at the HBCUs. (I don't think that the chapter at University of Alaska thinks that much about it). I think it really depends on the school and brothers from those schools need to be the one to say. Speaking of which, the new sectional chair for Section 85 (DC & Southern/Easterrn maryland) is a Zeta Phi (Howard U) Alumnus who crossed in 2009. |
