Dateline NBC-Unclaimed Property
Mods:If this is in the wrong place please feel free to move.
Unclaimed Property Welcome to the wonderful little secret called unclaimed property: It could be an old paycheck, stock note, or inheritance that’s owed to you. When no one claims these valuables, they’re eventually turned over to a state— where they may languish for years. On “Dateline” Sunday, we’ll show how you may be able to find that forgotten treasure on your own. Most states don’t have the staff come out and find you. But if it’s there, you can find it on your own. All you have to do is use the links above, or log onto unclaimed.org (not unclaimed.com). Just pick a state you or any member of your family has ever worked in or played in, type in the name, and within seconds you can find out if this is your lucky day. It is all absolutely free, and you should exercise caution in accepting any offers from paid finders. (Also note that unclaimed.org seems to be experiencing some technical difficulties, so you may have to check back at a later time.) You can also use this link to be directed to the unclaimed property Web sites of 32 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. And don’t say “it could never happen to me.” Some states have billions of dollars to give away. Some people never dreamed there was money just waiting for them... that is, until the day “Dateline” came knocking on their doors. Unclaimed Property Website |

My sister found $78 but refuses to claim it b/c she insists she knows nothing about it & doesn't recognize where it's from.

i have a cousin that has $70 to claim. however, she has NEVER lived in that area or addresss . this was listed under her maiden name and no one else in the entire world has a last name like hers besides family.

Boy did I receive a surprise - I have a small check there from an honorarium that I receive for working tests. The weird part is I'm still working tests.

Wow I am on the list for Georgia. Wonder what it is? I have to call later today and find out. It list me under Valdosta still which is interesting. It has to be above $50 because the site says it only list people with amount above that. Thats pretty cool.

Nothing for me or hubby :(

I'm glad some of you were able to find your money!
Dateline had a story about this guy who was in the army and went to war. He suffered with some sever distress syndrome. He worked at this new company called Lowes about 13 years. After a while he was unable to work because of his problems. Dateline found that he had almost 1 million dollars worth of Lowes stock. The story was awsome cuz I think he was living in a trailer. |
This is so weird! My mom, dad, and I were ALL on the list in Nebraska. My parents were both on the list in Missouri too as well as my grandma (who died a couple of years ago)...I'll have to let my parents know about this...
|
Nothing for me, but I did find something interesting. There is someone in the same state with the same name as my husband that has money out there. Too bad we can't claim it!:D
|
So has anyone done the paperwork and received their money? My great-grandmother is on there and so are a few other relatives...
