Greek stores and New York
 

I go to school in DC, usually if i want greek gear, i just go to the one in UMD. Over the summer (live in NY, not far from the city) ii'm going to need my greek store fix. I wanted to know if you guys knew where there was a greek store like near or around the NYC/ westcheter area.

Lots of Greeks run stores in New York. Restaurants, too.

the one in queens is called ADGreek (or Kim's if youre old school). its not THAT bad--they just moved locations to a bigger store down the street from where they were. my soror from St. John's says its popular there. i've gone a few times.

None of my old school sisters would ever take any of us "newbies" (dam, I'm old school myself by now) saying we were much better off going out to Something Greek.

Alphabet Greek is still open...I've never had any problems with them, but two of my isters had major problems getting thier stuff.

I've been in to ADGreek a few times...it's not the greatest, but depending on what you need done, it can suffice. If you are in Manhattan, there is a store at the South Street Seaport that does custom embroidery. One my Sisters' actual sister (does that make sense?) used them for tons of stuff. The place is called ABCDE Designs...

Personally I would not go to Alphabet Greek. They have a tendency to screw up people's orders and then take forever and a day to ship the right items to you. They used to come to my school so people could place orders there, and after pretty much everyone who ordered from them had something wrong with their order, they were asked not to come back.

I don't think greek 101 has an actual store though. I think they only do catalog and internet orders.

Some of my chapter sorors and I have gone to ADGreek and had AKA sweatshirts made. We were pleased with their work. I haven't gone back since then though, but will try to do so at some point.

I'm still waiting on my order from ADGreek. :(

And the afghan I ordered for my mother (from them) was faded/discolored.

Which is pretty sad, because the stuff people have ordered FOR me from ADGreek was on point.

Although I like their work, I probably won't shop from them again unless I physically go to the store.

@Senusret: How long ago did you place an order with them? I'm sorry that you're still waiting for your items and your mom's afghan was janky.

I hear you on physically being there to order stuff, especially if you're getting something custom made. That's why I don't have a crossing jacket now, lol.
