not birth control, but border control. what does everyone think about this? this is talked about every morning and night on the news channel. is the united states doing enough to prevent illegal immigrants? apparently not.

Not doing enough at all.

My brother-out-law was a border guard. He said that there was a guard post every 400 miles. Granted, I have no idea if that's true or not, but that sounds rather sieve-like to me!

And to force ranchers to build wells or fountains so that illegals won't die of thirst is a travesty!

I have no trouble with immigration - when it's done legally!

The ramifications of this topic are incredibly complex, but my opinion is no.

After all of the other arguments about migrant workers, inexpensive labor, etc., to me it comes down to an issue of national security -- who and what are crossing our borders.

Ditto.

I live near the border of the US and Canada and I really must say, there is no security between Detroit and Windsor. There are big rivers and lakes all along the coasts of both Ontario and Michigan and absolutely no way to secure the border.

OK... Take a deep breath... We need to think about this situation logically:

1) The policies of Bush are pro-national security.
2) Thus, his policy on immigration makes us safer.

I really hope this is a joke...it seems to be, but it's not really clear - so I'll just assume it's a joke and laugh, ok?

I wouldn't care if they just shot them unless it was Shakira.

Shakira is from Columbia, not Mexico.
