Well, it was great dynasty while it lasted. I don't care how good their organizaiton is at rating players...why the heck would you get rid of the heart of your defense and linebacker core, one of your better CBs (which isn't saying much), one of your better receivers, and the most clutch kicker in NFL history?

I call it right now:
Adam Vinatieri's foot will somehow cost us a shot at the Super Bowl...SIGNING WITH THE COLTS WILL BITE US IN THE ASS.

Ah well, at least I'm not resting my hopes on an unproven QB who sat on the bench for two years while letting go of a proven starter in Drew Brees...good job A.J. Smith.

Oh yeah, and Aaron Brooks? Haha Al Davis...can't wait to see Art Shell blow up at Aaron for another "slow start."

Whats the "poster boy" McNabb ever done? He is far from a poster boy in some minds. Philly was a different scenario than San Fran, what will he do differently in Dallas to mess that up in a couple of years? Calling out McNabb was nothing new, he did that with the 49ers. He should do something original and go after Jones or Parcells. That would be fun to see because you know he won't play nice in Dallas after awhile either.

Yeah . . . the organization was SO STUPID for letting the heart and soul of the franchise walk, and give the team to an unproven young 6th-round draft pick . . . (Bledsoe)

The franchise was also RIDICULOUSLY STUPID to let the heart and soul of the secondary leave in his prime, with almost zero in terms of backup for him . . . (Ty Law)

What the hell was Belichick THINKING, signing a MALCONTENT IDIOT who spends most of his time suspended or paying fines for cheap shots, to run an inexperienced secondary? Oh yeah, will he ever be D Captain? (Harrison)

Sorry man, i know you're venting, but the Pats FO has shown it will refuse to play favorites when trying to execute its plan . . . plus with $20mil available under the cap (minus locking up Seymour through his productive peak), I would wait a bit. I think they'll be fine - McGinest was on the way down and was massively overpaid by CLE, and the CB/WR situation was the definition of fungible. AV is obviously an issue, but why pay $4mil/per for a kicker? Seriously, AV was 'clutch' but he didn't have a great season otherwise last year . . . and how much of the rage is simply b/c he went to the Colts?

I just don't know if they can keep plugging holes at this rate. They were wrong with Monty Beisel and the other guy they picked for CB last year, and now that more teams are cookie-cutting what they do and more teams are becoming playoff contenders, will they be able to stay at the top like they have been in recent years?

I don't think Ty Law deserves to be the highest paid CB in the game, but he was still of value (career record for INTs in a season last year). But that was more on him than the Pats.

I most often don't doubt who they pick up (Dillon, Harrison), I just wonder about who they let go. I know it's strctly business, but how can you just let go some of the most loyal and consistent members of your team without it being questioned?

OK - so they were wrong on 2 positions, and right on every other one . . . plus, they had enough depth to cover it, or at least scheme enough to be competitive. I dunno dude, I think that's pretty consistent . . . plus, parity is nothing new in the NFL, it wasn't much different last year than any others - and most teams are not, in fact, copying their style, although obviously some are trying (see Crennell, Romeo) . . . I think you're just overworrying, dude. Let the cap situation work itself out, then see what happens - I really don't think they lost anything from their core.

The guys let go understood, and took a SHITLOAD of money from other teams - more than the Pats would pay. They knew the Pats had an amount they'd pay, and chose to take more. That's cool - good for them, they have families and all. But I don't think they're bitter, and the Pats toed their line.

Plus, remember this - in a recent survey, players ranked the Pats as the team they respected the most, and most wanted to play for. They'll find the players, at the right prices, and with a backup plan.

And I'm not even a fan - I just respect the process . . .

I know you're not a fan, and I do have a sky-is-falling approach sometimes...I'm just kind of bummed about McGinest. Though he's a Trojan, he was my favorite Pat after Tom. He's from Long Beach Poly, good friends with Snoop, and been a team leader his entire career.

If it makes you feel any better, it looks like they've signed Troy Brown and Neal, their guard.

I'm interested to see what the Giants do in the upcoming draft. I'd like to see them get a receiver and solidify their O-line. Unfortunately, a lot is going to depend on whether Eli Manning can actually find his own receivers this year.

I was glad to see Runyan get re-signed. Moving Shawn Andrews over there could have been bad.
