a.e.B.O.T. 03-19-2006 11:47 PM

well, the hotel is smaller this year, we were told that spots are going fast, so hopefully you find out soon so you can get a spot in time.

ZZ-kai- 03-20-2006 12:09 PM

Won't be there. Wish I could, but can't be there. If you go, be safe, have fun, learn a lot.

I wish I could Go

I wish I could go this year. However, my wife just received orders to move (she is on Active Duty with the US Army). We have to be at the new place 7 July.

I have been in New Orleans since mid September helping the response and recovery efforts. I had to miss last year's conference due to a job conflict at the last moment.

Coramoor 04-13-2006 06:42 PM

Unfortunatly I just found out I can't go.

I'll be going on active duty in the Army as a 2nd Lt on June 8. Heading out to Wa State.

Army?

So what are you going to do at Ft. Lewis? When will you do OBC and what branch?

Prior to our move this week, my wife was the program manager for the Chemical Captains Career Course.

ECUJacob 06-22-2006 03:25 PM

Unfortunately I'm not going this year. They "conveniently" placed it too close to the 4th of July holiday and it is incredibly expensive for alumni/advisors to go. I hope everyone enjoys it and has a great time. Please be safe!

Did Anyone Go?

Did you go? What was it like this year? Any major changes in the Brotherhood come up for a vote? any issues we should know about?

Share what you can without giving away the keys to the palace.

GPA was raised from a 2.5 to a 2.7

a.e.B.O.T. 07-07-2006 07:33 PM

Yes it did, which was a hole big mess for the delegates. They passed on requiring chapters to be above the all mens average which I thought would be a HUGE step for this fraternity, but I see both sides. Convention was a lot of fun, and a lot of not. Can't wait til next year

BigRedBeta 07-07-2006 08:52 PM

2.7 for chapters...still only need a 2.5 for initiation and being a member in good standing...

What were the reasons against being above the all mens average?

sdbeta1 07-08-2006 12:47 AM

I heard (since I wasn't in attendance) that the all men's average wasn't voted upon since an amendment was proposed and passed to simply require a 2.7 chapter gpa. I thought that the original proposal was either a 2.7 or the all-men's average, which means that whichever was lower would suffice.
