Latest Pin on Ebay

Found this pin on Ebay. Don't know where Epsilon Xi is located. The pin is really pretty. Current bidder has a hidden identity.

I'm the bidder on this one! :) My ID isn't private, it's the auction that's private -- the seller does it.

I'm curious about this one because, although I don't know where that chapter is off hand, it's gotta be one of our newer ones and that makes me suspect that the pin is lost or stolen. If I win it I'll check with National HQ.

Okay so I always watch these posts about pins and I'm curious about 2 things:

1- is the big deal just that people can buy a pin on ebay for way less than in store or because anyone can buy it?

2- does just anyone buy sorority pins? what would be the point of that? I'm totally lost.

:)

apparantly Epsilon Xi chapter was at Houston Baptist University in Texas. The sisters registered on the private side from that chapter range in initiation year from 1978 until 1996. I've personally never heard of the school. It's a fairly low number pin (100-something), so it's not that new. I'm not sure when that chapter was open.

And you deleted my list of all Kappa Delta chapters and their dates, so...

Well, if I win the pin I'll still check with National. If it's from 1978 or so the owner would only be in her mid 40s. Not exactly typical estate sale age.

Huh? I don't even remember us ever having a thread with that????

That's a pretty badge. I got one off of ebay too.
KD angel some people (not in sororities) like to collect badges, I don't know why.
I think you have seen mine and It was only slightly less than buying it from the offical vendor. I got it because I feel more connected to the sorority by wearing.... a piece of history so to speak. :)

I remember that list I was working on a project involving the Farmville Four and that chapter listing became incredibly helpful.

/end crash

Was it in the KD forum?

I don't ever remember us having a listing. Also, I haven't always been the only mod of this forum.

Yes it was on the KD forum, I did it a few months ago, it was a chapter listing of all the KD chapters....

you can also look on Kappa Delta's website. It has a list of all active chapters.

There are two pins up for sale right now:

I can't tell if the high bidder is a KD or not.

I found this one--it's exactly like mine, but on a ring and without the chapter guard. No bidders yet.
