Ha, Kristin Rossum's misery is about to get worse

What sucks is not only is she an SDSU alum, she's actually pretty cute when she's not all meth'd out...

Opening statements began Tuesday in the civil trial of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the family of man whose toxicologist wife was convicted of poisoning him more than five years ago.

The relatives of Gregory de Villers are seeking more than $2.1 million in damages.

Kristin Rossum was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced in late 2002, at age 26, to life in prison without the possibility of parole for injecting her husband with a lethal dose of narcotics on Nov. 6, 2000.

Rossum, who is appealing her conviction, claims her husband took his own life because he was depressed over their failing marriage.

It's interesting that her family has already sold the rights to the story to a production company. Talk about striking when the iron is hot.

Not that they care about the money.

It's the principle of these things...

Right.

well this by no means justifies the sale of film rights...but perhaps they need the money to pay all the legal fees?

Could be, since it's a civil trial.

Or, they might be gold diggers.
