Phantom Poops....natural or just bizarre?

I was wondering if anybody has every experienced a phantom shit, which for those of you who have no clue what I'm talking about is when you have a bowel movement but you don't actually poop. I guess it feels like you actually are crapping because of the bowel movement, but nothing comes out. Does anyone know if this can happen?

lots of bowel questions today

Any associated pain? Gas?
I can’t say I’ve heard of the feeling of a bowel movement without actually having one as being pathologic, but there are still a lot of things I haven’t heard of.
Peristalsis usually happens after you eat, and that is what makes you defecate. Unsynchronized peristalsis sometimes happens with irritable bowel syndrome and can result in pain, constipation or loose stools.

oh, never mind. I found out what a phantom poop is.

Phantom pooper strikes again!

I should have known because we had a Phantom Shitter in the Pike house one year. It got so bad that it was actually brought up in our chapter meetings.

Sometimes I wonder if I post TMI on GC, but I think several people post more TMI than me, lol.

The answer to both definitions is NO!
