Mystic Tan
Has anyone else tried Mystic Tan? I had a free coupon and decided to try it over the weekend. I researched the web and did everything just like the video said.....I'm such a weird color (not at all realistic looking).
I have exfoliated until I can't take it anymore and the color is starting the fade (whew). I read so many "I love Mystic Tan" stories and even people at the salon were swearing by it. Maybe really pale blondes shouldn't try it? I've always had a hard time with cosmetics turning orange on me, so maybe thats what happened. I had thought about trying Tan Cloths (not sure if thats the exact name - they are like baby wipes). After this weekend, I think I'll skip the Tan Cloths and just be a pale face. :p |
I was actually gonna try that this week.....b/c last time I went to the tanning bed *after I swearing it off for good* I got sun poisoning. So no more of that for me!!!!!
Hmmm....I'll be interested to hear more stories |
I turned orange...I'm pretty sure that it doesn't work that well on people with naturally pale skin.

I went orange, too. The only way I will ever tan is if my freckles run together.
[public service announcement] Please tan responsibly. I wouldn't wish the amount of skin cancer problems I've had on anyone! [/public service announcement] |
I turned golden brown, but it rubs off on clothes, etc and does not last. reg tanning beds are better.

I have olive skin and Mystic Tan works really well for me. I use it in conjunction with regular tanning and it creates a really natural tan very quickly.
Also, I LOVE the Jergens Natural Glow Moisturizing Lotion. It gives me great color and actually has something in it that makes my skin allergies go away. I cannot sing its praises enough. |
if you are 35 and above, please reconsider tanning at your age. I bet your skin looks like spotted leather

Nope. I am often carded when drinking/buying alcohol and look 28 tops. But like bruinaphi, I have more olive skin and darker skin does tend to age better... sorry fair people, I mean no harm in saying that. |

I haven't done Mystic Tan exactly, but i've done other kinds of spray tans. I didn't like Hollywood Tan, it didn't go on evenly. But there's another place in town that's independent that was very even. Neither time did I think the color was a problem. I'm pretty pale and burn very easily and really don't tan at all, so regular tanning isn't an option (nor would I do that to my skin, personally). I'm more blond than red, so I think the color works better on me than it would someone that's more red headed

One of my sisters has tried Mystic Tan several times and raves about it. It's supposed to only last for a week and is pretty pricey, so she only does it before special occasions like formal and stuff. Every time she's done it, it's come out looking good on her and not orangey or fake. Since I can't go tanning for another few weeks now because I still have surgical scars on my body, I'm going to go try it on Wednesday before I go on Spring Break so I don't look pale ghastly white when I get to the beach.
