The worst LXA items

Everyone here seems to always bring out the very best, most beautiful LXA items (badges, jewelry, books, etc.)

But what about the absolute worse items you have ever seen? I'm talking about items which may or may not be "official" LXA merchandise.

One day in Boston, being familiar with LXA and it's symbols, I happened upon a store selling greek merchandise. Looking around I noticed our letters on a COA, but the COA was pretty much absolutely nothing that resembled what it should have. Not only that, but the colors didn't match. Probably the ugliest interpretation of anything LXA (being sold professionally, not home made) that I have ever seen.

Yes, I've been burned.

Several years ago there was a "challenge coin" on ebay. I bid but someone else bought it. Then the seller wrote to me personally saying he had "one left" and would I like to buy it for $14? Like a fool, I fell for it.

It was a piece of crap - paint peeling off, spots of corrosion, and poorly made in the first place. I tossed it in the trash and chalked it up to experience.

Since then, it seems hundreds more have been listed under various bogus names (Texas hold-em, BigBro, Founders Coin, etc.), anything the sellers can think up.

In my opinion, they are garbage.

This is a good thread for warning other brothers about items to stay away from - our own little "consumer reports".

Jono

Hmmm... one of my hobbies is collecting shotglasses, mugs and other bar items. Some years ago I bought two bar glasses that had the letters printed on them. They were decent glasses and all, but I still felt scammed. I figure anyone can print up the letters if they really try and I probably overpaid. For some reason this didn't dawn on me till later.
