My sister in law & all the women in her family are members of AKA. If and when I have a daughter (because my husband is a boy maker ) she will have a choice of whatever BGLO she wants, the catch to that is, I’m only paying dues to DELTA! I have respect for all BGLO, but the likely hood of my husband giving me a girl is slim to none, so She will be a DELTA, a GDI or find some other way to pay for it! I know most of you may not agree, but it’s my child and my money! However, If I feel she is not DELTA material... She will stay a GDI! I love her, but being a legacy does not guarantee you a place. Now when she is an Alumnae, she can do whatever...maybe!

I am a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta and have a daughter. Maybe this is the neo in me talkin but I personally don't care if my daughter becomes a Zeta or even a greek at all. Yeah, she will be a legacy, but from what I have learned in this past year of being greek, in some places, they could care less if you are a legacy. What I don't want her to do is become a Zeta just because I'm a Zeta. I want her to do it because she wants to do it, not because she think it will make me happy.

I agree, I want my baby to be happy... But the check is going to Delta! I’m just saying, if she want’s something else, that’s great! I will Respect that, She just needs to make sure she want’s the other organization bad enough to pay for it herself!

All jokes aside... I hope she decides to be Greek, I think it will be a wonderful experience, I hope that she would choose Delta so that we would have that to share (in addition to everything else). Her sorors will always be welcome in our home (no matter what BGLO she is in) but I’m only paying for Delta.

My line sister just had a baby girl and she says the same exact thing. The funny thing is that my ls is from a family of Zeta's:D

Just curious as to why this thread was started in the Omega forum?

There was a thread about siblings, and parents that belong to different organization. I have no Greek siblings so I posted my feelings about my child, and how I would feel if she were to join BGLO (other then mine). Next time I came back my post was on that thread and the start of this one.
