Woah... man it just hurts my head thinking about the odds of this birth - and causing bizarre flash-backs to a 'hypothetical' question in my Evolutionary Biology lab about the possibility of such a thing happening... I think the Prof. owes someone an apology....

Wasn't there also a Dutch couple who were artificially inseminated, and somehow, both the husband's and a Jamaican man's sperm were used, causing fraternal twin boys - one black, and one white? I think I saw that on Dateline, or another news show.

The Jamaican father was contacted, and once he saw that the couple weren't treating the children differently, he bowed out of the picture.

I'm sure there's a link - I just didn't look for one right now.

Is something like this amazing? Well, not in this day and age!

If they are Boys, I wonder if they will join the same Greek Organization?:)

Oh, I did not check the link!!!!;)

strong medicine had an episode about this happening, the tubes were labeled wrong and an IVF procedure went bad...

Except this was not mistaken sperm injected or a mixup. This was good old copulation and genetics at work. Very cool, I think!

Quoted just because you don't hear the phrase "good old copulation" often enough...also honeychile, is this the twins you were talking about (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9438648/). I saw the end of this story so, at the time, I didn't see them explain how it happened.

Thanks! I googled that in at least four different ways, and couldn't find it. It's been a beastly week, so I didn't even think of trying Dateline itself!

I'm pained that the Twinsburg, OH festival wouldn't include them until just 4 years ago. These kids have enough troubles ahead of them, without conscious racism!

These kids are adorable!

Does anyone else find it odd that in the article on snopes that they are calling the English couple "partners" when they are 19 and 17 respectively? I would tend to believe that this pregnancy was not exactly planned...I could be wrong though.

A few years ago, there were Dutch/Indonesian twins born--2 girls, I believe, and 1 looked all Asian and the other looked all Anglo. Their pictures were in several papers.

I found it weird too. "Partners" usually means that a couple is living common law, at least around here...

Those girls are too cute.

I love how eventhough they're obviously fraternal they kind of look identical, just a "negative" of each other.
