NPC Badge Day: Monday, March 6, 2006

Just a friendly reminder to wear your badges next Monday!

I don't know WHAT it is with Badge Day, but it is always the day my chapter does its composite pictures (which means no badge for me).

The APH is hosting a luncheon at the country club that day. Hopefully I'll be able to get some extra lunchtime off work. :)

I'll have to remember that.

Not NPC, but I'll wear my Tau Delta badge proudly in Panhellenic spirit ;) Need an excuse to bust it out here in Ireland anyways.

AlphaFrog 02-28-2006 09:13 AM

PA - do you have a picture of your Tau Delta badge?

alum 02-28-2006 09:14 AM

I'll be wearing my Key and husband's A-Pin!

Not NPC, but I will proudly be wearing my badge (....and my President dangle, and my chapter guard, hehe). We also keep our pledge pins (they become our 'chapter pin')and I always keep that on my lettered hoodie :-)

Pinned

Alum, do you have your badges soldered together on a chain? We were "pinned" and they are together on a chain--haven't worn my key since college since I moved away from my friends and never got involved in alum stuff here (but maybe soon!) Anyway, I've been thinking about whether I should have them unattached so my husband could wear his, should he ever decide to get involved in an alum group.

So...general question to the group....if you were "pinned" and actually got married to that person, should you unattach the pins now that we're all old? My husband actually had a chain with his chapter (Phi) attached, but I think that little pin is long gone.

I teach a class on Mondays, so I'll have to scrounge up something a little nicer than I usually wear if I'm going to wear my key!

My pins are not soldered together but I have never worn the key alone except for my own initiation. I wear them as follows.
The A Pin (for Army) has the class crest superimposed on the letter A. The rising right wing of the eagle and the backslash right leg of the letter A make a nice juncture for the handle part of the key to fit.

Therefore the A pin is on my right and my key is immediately left. The A-Pin guard is under the key and the key guard is next to that.

The A-pin is not worn by cadets. See the link.

The A pins are near the bottom of the page.

So I won't have my badge since I am going to be initiated this weekend. So how dorky would I looking wearing my three pearl trident guard with dangling chain? Just joking, but I should so something to mark the occasion.

I'm going to try to wear my badge Monday - my typical schedule would've allowed me to, but now it's looking like I'll be home all day :(
