What about Alpha Chi's?

Hey everyone, I am not in a sorority yet- im going to rush this spring. Anyway, Alpha Chi Omega is one that I am very interested in. I know that chapters vary from school to school and anything anyone says wont change my opinion on them, but im curious to know how they are at everyone's school. Of course in my opinion, i think they are one of the best sororities on campus here. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Well, okay--they're doing very well at Auburn and they just weren't able to survive on the other 2 campuses I was on. It wasn't really their fault--when you were the newest group on a campus in the seventies, it was kind of like "last hired, first fired".

However, I know the chapter at UGa must be super because they took one of the most outstanding girls from my daughter's high school class this fall! And I keep meeting some wonderful alums from the Brenau and Birmingham Southern chapters!

Alpha Chi is a wonderful well-established fraternity for women that is like any group, greek or otherwise, different depending on the chapter. However, each chapter does promote unity through sisterhood among our entire fraternity, and that is the only thing that matters to me. I chose AX and she chose me because of what we had to offer each other...dedication and loyalty for a lifetime of happiness.

We each have to choose our destiny for what it has to offer us and what we have to offer it. When its right - you'll know!

Alpha Chi's were (and probably still are) very popular at the University of Illinois. I knew several of them and they were really nice girls.

AXO Alum is right. Alpha Chi is a fabulous, strong sorority and I really hope you'll consider it strongly! What I wrote about the 2 chapters that folded should be taken in the context of the antiGreek sentiments of the seventies when we all lost chapters. Everybody!

We have enjoyed hearing about your odyssey through rush and can't wait to hear your decision!

Texas Alum 12-05-2000 12:14 AM

Hi bucutie02! Of course I am a little biased, but Alpha Chi rocks!!!!! We are one of the older NPC chapters, founded 1885...
And, AXO Alum is right (as usual http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif), each sorority can vary widely from chapter to chapter, and region to region... but a strong national org. can often be indicative of individual chapter strength...

I'd LOVE to provide more info for you if you are interested!!!! Please e-mail me - TexasAlumna@aol.com!!

LITB to all my sisters...

Wow - everything screamed "GO AXO" at me. I loved the girls (of course I knew some of them from high school - but then again, I knew girls in each soro from high school), I loved the preference ceremony, and I loved going back to my dorm room and drawing AXO on everything. Oh - the memories! But you know all that since we email each other http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Go to one of the chapter sites, and read "The Symphony of Alpha Chi Omega" - it is so inspiring! I also could really relate to our national philanthropy and helping victims of domestic violence. Good luck - I'm looking forward to your rush about as much as you!!!

LITB to all my beautiful sisters!
