Christine Brennan
Award Winning Sports Journalist
Malinda Jolley Mortin Woman of Achievement Award

Christine Brennan is a leading voice on the Olympics, international
sports, women's sports and other sports issues. Christine was initiated into Chi Omega at the Xi Chapter at Northwestern University. Since college, she has used the skills developed in Chi Omega to make a difference in the world through her work as a journalist.

Christine's column in USA Today makes her the most widely-read
female sports columnist in the nation. In addition to print journalism, Christine is an on-air commentator for ABC News and ESPN. She will be on the air reporting from the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy.

The author of five books, Brennan has won the Women's Sports
Foundation's journalism award four times. Her 1996 book Inside Edge was named one of the “top 100 sports books of all-time” by Sports Illustrated. In May 2006 her next book will be published: Best Seat in the House: A Father, A Daughter, A Journey Through Sports. It will be the first father-daughter memoir written by a sportswriter.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, Christine was inducted into the Ohio
Women's Hall of Fame in 1995. She lives in Washington, D.C.

Marsha Blackburn

Malinda Jolley Mortin Woman of Achievement Award

Marsha Wedgeworth Blackburn is a member of the United States
House of Representatives, representing Tennessee’s 7th
Congressional District.

Marsha was initiated into Chi Omega at the Phi Delta Chapter at
Mississippi State University. Before being elected to Congress in 1998, Marsha was a small business owner for nearly 20 years. Within her first few months in Washington, she was named a "freshman to watch" by National Journal, while Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper, called her a "rising star." In 2004, she was declared the Republican "top newcomer" in the House of Representatives.

A frequent guest on national television news and radio talk programs, Marsha was the first woman elected in her own right to Congress from Tennessee. Marsha and her family live in Brentwood, TN
