Him

Does anyone listen to HIM? I'm curious. Is he a devil worshipper? Is it like devil music? I just d/l'd his "Wicked Games" cover and when I played it on iTunes the title said "Wicked Games (666 Remix)" which kinda got me thnking.

I don't know if it is the same HIM you are talking about...but they have a cool song out that I like call "Wings of a Butterfly." As for the devil thing, I have no idea... Plus a lot of the times other people not associated with the band do remixes of songs..

My best friend is a big fan. I don't think the 666 Remix has anything to do with HIM, I think it's just a name they put on that mix.

HIM is alright...and definitely not a "devil worshipper."

Here's the website:

Yeah that's the same song I was thinking of that I really like. Lol it kinda caught me off guard when I saw that KIM stood for "His Infernal Majesty". Hmmm...

mmmm..that's interesting....I did not know that..

They're Swedish or something...how can they be devil worshippers? :p

In all seriousness, though, I like "Dark Light" and one other song that I can't think of right now. I never really considered it Satanic music...it's really more emo kind of stuff. FYI, Bam Margera loves HIM (if that's not enough to turn you off).

Do you mean turn me on? Cuz DAYUM I think Bam is so freakin hot. And I find HIM's voice kinda sexy. I didn't think the music was Satanic, but the meaning of his name kinda caught me off guard. I might have to check out more of his music.

I've never heard of this artist, but a quick check of allmusic.com makes it seem likely that the 666 is far more than just a coincidence...

After forming in Finland in 1995, H.I.M. (or His Infernal Majesty) set out on the path of goth forebears like Sisters of Mercy and the Mission U.K.. Vocalist and songwriter Ville Hermani Vallo was the band's founding member, alongside Migé Amour (bass), Lily Lazer (guitar), Gas Lipstick (drums), and Zoltan Pluto (keyboards). The 1996 EP 666 Ways to Love was the group's first recording, and it did quite well in Scandinavia. One year later, Greatest Love Songs, Vol. 666 solidified their cult status throughout the region; it featured a cover of Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game". Razorblade Romance in 2000, and H.I.M. supported it with an extensive European tour. H.I.M. Pluto departed after Romance and was replaced by Emerson Burton. Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights, H.I.M.'s third album, arrived in 2002, and the Europe-only Love Metal in 2003. In 2005 the band's early albums were reissued in America through Universal; they also released Dark Light, their official domestic debut.

Maybe I'm just dense and didn't get your sarcasm but black metal is very big in the scandinavian countries.

U2 is not..Sorry:)

I like the fact that they named their band "him" because a band that they hated was named "her":D

Um, yeah, you didn't...but that's OK. :) My best friend spent a year in Sweden, and she used to send me all these CD singles of songs that were popular over there. It was weeeeird stuff, seriously.
