RU-486-yea or nea

Peace & Blesings all

In my professional capacity, I have disbursed a lot of information and news packages on the new abortion pill, RU-486.

Here's the question:
Do you think that by having the pill, that it will become as second nature, in practice as going to an "in-office" visit to the doctor?
Do you think that pro-lifers will have less of an argument because of the time limit on the pills usage?

Afterall, the women who are being targeted for this product are in our age group and our children are the future....

Excellent question, and a controversial topic.

I don't think it will be second nature. I think most women's natural inclination is the have the child and raise it by herself, if necessary. Since a vast majority of women think long and hard about abortion or adoption in light of an unwanted pregnancy, I would assume women will have to give the same thought to RU-486. It will mostly aid those women who don't have easy access to surgical abortions.

I think pro-lifers will have the same issues with the pill as a surgical abortion, because the debate is on whether a life begins at the moment of conception, not the issue of when the abortion occurs.

I look to hear other thoughts.

Interesting topic!

I read that the pro-life movement is staunchly against it. I think what anti-abortionists fail to realize is that RU-486 has been around for quite some time. It has been used in Europe since the 80s and the FDA has been testing it in the US since then.

I agree that women will still have to put a lot of thought into whether they will have an abortion or not. Not matter what the method, it is still a huge decision.
