psycho sellers on eBay

There are several psycho sellers on eBay who sell greek items of various sorts. I'm not talking about someone who buys something then sells it with the correct greek letters named or something, I'm talking about those sellers who blatantly lie in order to make more money. There is one that is easy to "catch" this week named rkk521.
First, see where she bought the pin:

Now....see the story she makes up as she sells it this week:

Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Psycho, no. Stupid, yes. At least be smart enough to have two ebay names, one for buying and one for selling if you are going to write creative listings with blatant lies.

Funny thing is, he overpaid for it at $79.99 where the greek letters are buffed out. It is not engraved so cannot be traced back to a member so in this case, the pin is worth only the price of the gold and the pearls, far less than $79.99. There is no value to an AZD member, historic or sentinmental.

Hilarious.

Not much you can say but caveat emptor.

I was taken for a ride by stephmnelson, who then opened a second account under bamfranger99. She had such poor feedback under the first name that she "sold" things to herself to build it back up, then closed the stephmnelson account!!

Avoid her like the plague!!!

Honey,

I'm still having issues with that one sister that you and I discussed. She has approached several Zetas via e-mail to sell the badges that she bought on Ebay and her prices are anywhere from 25 to 100 percent mark-up.

There is nothing that I can do about the situation so I try not to get too uptight but I had to laugh when a new member asked me about it. She thought Heather bought so many Zeta badges because she wants to BE a Zeta. I had to explain that she buys lots of badges and pins from every GLO and that she is already affiliated with a very fine group. She still didn't understand but I figure it will help her hold onto her own badge a little better.

Now she's trying to SELL them?!?!?!?!?

That infuriates me - she said that she was only collecting them because she enjoyed it. I would rather someone tell me that they were in the business than be lied to!!

Grrrrr.....

I wish EVERY SORORITY had a refresher course on this every year. I know I have lots of great sisters who have no idea what can happen to their badges when they pass, and would be interested in taking the (very minimal!) actions necessary to ensure the badge is passed to another sister/back to Nationals/buried with them.

One of our sisters wrote a very good Pin Disposition Form, which designates who or how your pin is be used. I think the choices are to be buried with it, to be given to ____, to be sent back to EO, to be sent to ___ chapter to be used as ___. I know that I printed out a form for each of my pins, so they stay in the hands of an Alpha Delta Pi.

I can look for the empty form, and send it to whomever wants it, if you'd like.

What a great idea.

We have one as well that's printed in every issue of the Key.

I tried to get one off the Kappa site but it in the member's only section. Maybe you could just type up the basic text here and people will always be able to reference it. They could then copy it into word and edit text and print out and put in their jewelry box.

Thanks,
Denise

I think that there is still some value to the members of AXiD because we are the only ones that have a symbol with the Quill and the 20 perals. We now what the Quill represents and just because it doesn't have our letter doesn't make the meaning of the Quill any less.
