ADPi on 'Flip this House'

I LOVE this show! Today, they were at Clemson. The guy who owns the company showed his Sigma Nu house. Then, they went to his niece who's an ADPi. He sent one of his employees to go and hang out with her, and they were HAZING her. She's too old to join as a collegian, and she wasn't even pledging. It was just kind of weird to see it. I'm really surprised they were allowed to use the letters and everything! I just wondered if anyone else caught it?

That one was a rerun....I saw it a month or so ago.....and I thought the same thing. I was surprised by what was being done....I only hope it was for the TV camera versus normal protocol....TV camera usually bring out a different or at least exaggerated side of peoples behavior.

I'm going to be on that show....

... Here's a little tip... Things that happen on reality TV are slightly "staged." Not really scripted, but a little staged.

I saw that episode a month or so ago. I don't recall anything bad on there. Didn't she have to get phone numbers or something with a bad make up job? I didn't consider that bad. She thought it was fun.

It's NOT bad per se...but it IS considered hazing. Scavenger hunts are considered hazing. It also looked like they were drinking in their house. For us, that was a no-no. Like I said before, I'm just surprised they showed it on TV.

i saw this a few months ago too. i think they blurred out all the letters and i couldnt make out which house it was at the time. but i did know that the guy who started trademark properties is a sigma nu.

The girls involved were put on national probation, I believe.

Depending on the network, I think the "staging" can get crazy. I have a friend who was on Room Raiders a couple of months ago for MTV and he said they told him everything to say and do. Almost completely scripted.

I hadn't heard about this before. I'm disappointed to think that one of our chapters would not only be doing something like that, but then think it was a good idea to let it be recorded for television. :(

If anyone finds out anything more about this, please post it.

Almost all of it was blurred out - letters on picture frames, on the girls' shirts, etc. But if you were looking, and know the basics - i.e. that ADPi is on of a few sororities to have the colors blue and white, that they use the diamond, that they're a three letter sorority - you could pick up on it.

I saw an ADPi on Room Raiders. She was the "sorority girl" of the group and to my dismay, hanging on her door was a paddle with the letters blurred out. But it was painted blue and white and I could see that at the top it had the words <> sis (Diamond Sis)... so I knew it was ADPi.

We don't condone the giving or receiving or making of paddles, so I was a little disappointed to see a member on national tv with a paddle in full display. Clearly, the chapter hasn't done their job to follow our standards or the member knows and just doesn't care.

We're not allowed to do paddles but we do it anyways. They're so cute and it's actually the most exciting part of being a Phi, besides getting to know all the information thrown at you in 6-8 weeks. We made quattrefoils for our big sis's and I think they were ugly. I hate the fact that paddles are still "outlawed".

*slight hijack*

Was noone else here told that even if you are not wearing your letters, people will still know you're a DG? (or whatever your case may be!) Seems to me that noone would want to go on a show and do anything that their "mama" (i.e. EO, HQ, Nationals, whatever...) would not want them to see.... News flash, there are lots of people who find out what that person is, even if the letters are covered.

I heard that too. Once you wear letters a few time, people will remember. On campus at least.
