Where do you get your MP3's from?

So I finally bit the bullet and ordered an MP3 player.

I haven't downloaded any MP3s in probably about a year. For those of you with IPod's and other MP3 players- where do you get all of your music? How much do you pay, etc.?

Thanks for the help!

I-Tunes is really good... 99 cents per song.

That's what I use at school because it's like the only thing not blocked by the school's firewall. Ares is pretty good but sometimes it can be really slow. When I want something that's taking too long or isn't on there, I just have the boyfriend download it for me and send it to me.

For the most part I haven't really had a problem with them. Once in a while I'll be downloading something and it gets to 99% and then it stops.

Another time it got all the way to 90%, and for some reason I lost my internet connection. When I got back on, the thing said only 75% completed.

But it's free and it doesn't happen too often, so I can't really complain. :p

Limewire is really good too.... Not that I download things illegally. I had a friend tell me about it. :D

Limewire. Fast. Furious. Free.

Because we do it for decoration man, that's it and that's only.

Personally, I use itunes.

however, if you are using itunes I highly reccomend getting myTunes Redux. Basically because iTunes will connect you to other itunes libraries on the same network, so you can stream other peoples music, myTunes lets you just download it. The other people don't even know you're doing it. Obviously, you're limited by what other people have but it's really great at the library when there's a lot of other people around.

There are many threads on this subject with better suggestions my dear Danielle.

Also, I don't know if you are aware but I am worried and wanted to let you know that according to U.S. law, music piracy is illegal. I know you were upset with Hoosier when he posted a news article and if you didn't know, I just wanted to let you in on that.

But don't worry sweety pie. I know you'll be fine either way! :)

If you read the thread you'd see that I asked where people got their music. I didn't ask where they illegally downloaded from.

I know nothing about the new Napster or ITunes and all the various new services and wanted to know what people used.

Am I missing something? Danielle is a lawyer, I'm sure she knows what's illegal. However, she didn't actually ask where people illegally download music, she asked where they download music from in general, this includes legal, paid places.

I was just warning my snookums :( Don't be mad.

Where did you download your music previously? I can tell you how the new services stack up to them.
