The Mystery of the Hidden Cannon
 
There has long been a rumor in Rome, GA that some huge Civil War cannons were buried in the local cemetery by the Union Army rather than being moved back north. Recent radar scans of 2 unmarked graves show something shaped very much like guns rather than caskets. We shall know soon--

I believe the first battle of the CW was at Fort Sumter. Started by Gen. PT Beauregard. (A distant relative of hubby.)

I could be wrong though. So much for being a history major! DOH!

Your Right, it wasnt Harpers Ferry!

But the First C W Battle was Fought In Kansas!

John Brown Was From Kansas, The First Abolitionist! The First Black Regiment was also from Kansas.

The Battle Of Westport was The Gettysburg of The West, today In The KC Mo. Area. A Pub Area, go figure!!!:cool:

Also South of The Plaza Area, Very Posh Digs!:)

Me too an Ex History Major, but Loved the Civil War stuff!

Visited many Battlefields and Have several Friends who are Re-In-actors!:D
