Titanic Exhibit opens in Oshkosh
Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
February 4 - April 30, 2006 Oshkosh Public Museum www.oshkoshmuseum.org 1331 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh WI 54901-2799 920.236.5761 RMS Titanic, Inc FEATURING 100 ARTIFACTS, SOME NEVER SEEN BEFORE For over nine decades, these treasures lay hidden 2.5 miles beneath the North Atlantic Ocean. Painstakingly recovered from the debris field surrounding the wreck and artfully-conserved, these three-dimensional objects, more than words and images, represent the vessel and the 2,228 souls who journeyed with her into history. |
I took my kids to that exhibit when it was here in Detroit. It's a terrific experience, very moving, very educational and really well done.

Ohh how far away is that from Detroit? I'd love to go.

Edit: Apparently not until May, so nevermind. |
I had the pleasure of seeing this exhibit today in Victoria, BC. http://www.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/titanic/default.aspx
If you have the opportunity to see this exhibit, do. It was very moving and interesting. It's in Victoria from April 14 - October 14, 2007 and then I'm not sure where it globes-trots to, next. eta: http://www.rmstitanic.net/ It looks like there are several of these Titanic exhbits, including Colorado, Florida and Las Vegas. |
Saw it in Georgia during SEPC. Bring tissues. Buy the voice tour. Touch the ice!!!
