How many times a week do you wear your organization colors?

I wear my sorority jacket maybe four times a week because it is white and I don't want to get it dirty.

Jackets can be dry cleaned! Mine is white too and I wear it all the time -- when it's warm enough.

Ok, but I have a question is yours like a windsuit like jacket, mine is on my collar my hair color got on it and it will not come completely out and I didn't even have my hair colored. The only thing is says for washing is to wash in mild detergent and same color clothes with cold water. I wash mine by itself in cold with dishwashing liquid and I spray some Meangreen on the spots and scrub it and I put a little in the water and the stain still didn't come completely out. How do you wash yours. I would love to know it would help me out and plus I could wear it everyday.

Here's mine: http://www.thegreekshop.com/windbreakers2.html

(It's under Design D - PourSISTAnCE)

I believe it's what you're talking about. I ALWAYS dry clean it. I never put water or soap on it.

So you never wash your jacket, what if it has spots or something on it; what will you do then. I will like to know because I don't want to mess up my jacket, it is very special.

I also have a white jacket but I only wear it on special occasions and it still has gotten a little dirty.

I see that I am not the only one getting their jacket a little dirty. Thanks!

ShamikaT 01-28-2006 09:31 PM

What did you do to get your jacket dirty?

tnxbutterfly 01-28-2006 09:35 PM

Our (Theta Nu Xi) colors are Lavender and Carolina blue. I've many tee-shirts that color. I wear them all the time

flirt5721 01-28-2006 11:05 PM

Well since our colors are light blue, dark blue, and gold(yellow) I wear them a lot. More blue then the yellow.

Ours are peach and black. I wear black a lot. Peach seems to be the new black for spring, so I've been picking up lots of new pieces lately. I do wear my white jacket...on a regular basis. And I just put mine in the washing machine. It still looks new after some years of washing (college kids can't afford dry cleaning). My black jacket I don't wear so much because it's a pullover and my white one is a button down which is way more flattering to my figure.

Those are our colors as well. I look horrible in gold/yellow, but I love blue. I wear it all the time. (My sisters laugh at me about how it's practically all they see me in ...)

I can afford drycleaning, but I am not going to take my shit to the cleaners down here they fuck up your shit and don't want to pay for it; that's why I wash it in a mild detergent and scrub the spots a little.

It's only like $5 in New York (and cheaper in Georgia). $5/month or every two months is NOT that much! You can also get Dryel (dry clean at home) which is a bit pricey but it works and you definitely get your money's worth.

The reason I stick to dry cleaning is that I tried to wash another white jacket but 1) the colors bled and 2) it came out a bit dingy. I would NEVER dry it in the dryer after washing either.

ETA: OH - you said you can afford it. I misunderstood...so, my post should go out to my pretty-in-peach sistergreek, rocketgirl!
