"four rooms"
 

I was just curious if any other campus, during formal rush does anything like our "four rooms". We have a pretty small campus and arnt allowed to have "houses".. although that dosn't always stop us. During formal rush the 4 main sororites each take out a room in our campus union. We combine all of our PNM's into one large group and they all have to go into each one of our rooms. This is a chance for all of the PNM's to pick the sorority they like the most.
The sororities are allowed about 10 minutes for a meet and greet type thing. We can decorate the room anyway we want and can hand out a favor.
The true test to see if your room won them over is if they show up to your prefrence party later that week.

Does anyone have any ideas about how to decorate the room? Skits or songs.... anything would help and would be appreciated because i dont know where to start!

This is exactly how my school does both formal and informal recruitment. Usually the sororities get 20-30 minutes per room and recruitment lasts for three nights. We usually decorate the rooms with streamers, balloons, etc. depending on what the theme is. Also pinup cutouts from Party City and stuff like that. One year we had all of the sisters bring their favorite set of letters one of the days, and we decorated the room with all of the letters so it was bright and colorful. One year we did a Camp KLP theme, so we got a fake fire, made "logs" out of construction paper, and put blankets around it for the sisters and PNM's to sit on so we could have like a bonfire type thing.

When I rushed, we did something similar. There were 4 NPC sororities and a local at the time; the local did not participate in formal recruitment. The PNMs were divided into 4 groups, and visited each sorority for 10 minutes. During this time, each PNM had a short conversation with whichever sister happened to pick her up, and the sorority did a skit, and that was it. The sororities then held "open houses" for the rest of the evening and the next day, and PNMs could go where they wished and spend as much or as little time at each sorority as they wished. Only one sorority had a house at the time, so everything was held in rooms in the student center. Rooms were decorated mostly with balloons, streamers, composites and other pictures, etc.

I see you are an AEPhi. Check with nationals - they have a lot of ideas for skits, songs, themes, and the like.
