Jack's back from the dead (24)
Tonights episodes were outstanding...man have I missed this show!
Early thoughts *SPOILER WARNING* Why did they have to kill off the good people??? Palmer was very cool, Michelle was hot! I like Jack's new love interest, it's unfortunate that everyone Jack gets involved with dies... And the President sucks - I knew that last season, but he firmed up my belief today. |

And yes, the president is a big puss. Didn't like him last season, and I still don't like him. What an ass! Oh, but I DO have to give props to my ADPi sister Jean Smart as the First Lady!!! :) |
GREAT episode last night. Ditto, I definitely missed this show!
Unfortunately my stupid DVR (damn you Brighthouse cable!!!) cut off the last 10 minutes. I guess the show started late because the football game ran over??? Anyway, can anyone recap the last 10 minutes? Much appreciated! :) |
Not sure how much you saw, but Jack dropped the kid off at the airport with his mom - then went in to look for the guy listed in Palmer's memoir. The "bad guys" were in a van outside, they all ran in (kid saw it, realized they were "bad" and that he had to warn Jack, ran in after them). As Jack finds the guy in a back room the van outside explodes. The guy takes a pill to kill himself before Jack can get any info from him. The "bad guys" take the airport hostage (the kid is now a hostage) but they don't know Jack is there. They then flash to the Russian president arriving safely etc, THEN show Marty - the President's head of security or whatever he is - on the phone with the head bad guy saying something like "They don't know a thing - I was able to successfully alter the phone tape"
Anyone help me out with anything I missed... Which leads me to a couple things I think are just plain DUMB - how in the world would the President's head guy be a terrorist?!?! Come on - that background check is probably the most extensive in the world!!! I also think the new, young guy at CTU is in on it - which means CTU must have some really bad background checks, too, b/c they always have someone working for them that's a "bad guy". AND, Jack headed into a building FULL of FBI agents with only sun glasses to protect his identity?! PUH-Leez!!!! It was so ridiculous! AND, I was so happy when his annoying daughter was out of the show. Why do we have to have another annoying teenager in the plot? It really doesn't do anything for it. I'm not sure I can deal with this show anymore - it's getting a little too unbelievable. |

Jack was the ONLY person who saw the terrorist give the yellow tie guy the key card. WHY, then, does he waste his time giving greasy teen boy a hug, telling him to take care of his mom, blah blah blah while Yellow Tie gets away!?! The first thing a well-trained CTU officer like Jack would have done when he got his hands on that gun (after killing the terrorists) would be to run over and find Yellow Tie! Come ON!!!! |

Seriously, stop reading into the show, we all know it's fake beyond belief...doesn't stop it from being awesome though :) |

-RC --Also they accounted for this objection, with the head terrorist (w/ the key card) pointing his gun at anyone with their head up, forcing them to look down (except for yellow tie), so they wouldn't see the exchange. It was actually pretty elegant - kind of like Jack dealing with the kid first, then going after the bad guy, in a touch of humanity to the cold-hearted killer from previous seasons (last one, esp.). It's not exactly an exercise for the mind, but you're nitpicking these sorts of things. |

I don't need to calm down, boys, I'm just doing a little venting and eye rolling. It's just annoying because the first season was exciting if slightly unbelievable...I think it's going downhill. But I like Jean Smart, too!!! |
I watched this weekend for the first time; after watching these episodes, I understand why people are so into this show.

Last night's episode was kind of dull in my opion... Well, up until Jack killed the "doctor" and Chloe (that's her name right? It's 8 am, sorry) figured out that her new sex toy was being all sneaky sneaky.
Interested to see where the First Lady ran off to. I am liking her character- she's a badass. :D I can't wait to see what happens with Jack and Audrey (again- name???) I liked the moment last night where she was talking to Jack's new woman.... and they saw each other for the first time. The lady's face was clrearly "Oooohhhhhh. I get it." :p Next week should be good. |
