Women's Size 00

Okay, I have seen this on a rush thread today, read this in another entertainment thread and heard it mentioned in an episode of Desperate Housewives..

What is a women's size 00? How is it different than a size 0?

At stores such as Petite Sophisticate (which I am REALLY going to miss, BTW), the tags may say 00, but they are just a size 0 with a leading 0, i.e. a size 2 is tagged as a 02.

Okay, spill, what is a size 00 and where do you find them? Is it a child's or junior's size?
:p

A size 00 is a different size, as far as I know...even smaller than a 0.

Well according to my aunt Abercrombie has size 00, I remember he talking about it and she was just as confused as you at first. I never shopped there but her daughter does and she's about 12 and thin for her age. If she were to be in the high school age range she'd be considered tiny! Hope that helps!

Banana Republic also has a size 00, some of their spring 2006 things are in it. I don't know any adults that small, so I will reserve comment.

It's the size below 0. It's mostly found in junior oriented brands and stores. There are some women's brands that have it, but not many. I'm not a large girl by any means (I'm like a 2-3), but I can barely get my leg in anything that size. :p

Seriously, if you're a 00, you need to have more solid food in your life. If you find this offensive, go eat a cheeseburger :p

It's what happens when vanity sizing gets out of control.

And yeah, it's basically a size -2 in most stores. (Not all, as the original poster pointed out.)

I don't care what it is but I demand that my women be 6 feet tall, be size 00, and be breeders HAR HAR HAR

I knew a girl that wore a size 00. She had no boobs, no butt, no hips, basically she looked like a pole and I'm not being mean just honest.

EXACTLY! Most of those stores (Banana, Gap, J Crew, etc.) have vanity sizing. I guarantee anyone who's a J Crew 6 will NOT be, say, a Prada 6.

Size 00's don't have those birthin' hips.

When I worked retail, we found this pair of teeny tiny jeans mixed in with the regular junior ones so we sent them upstairs to the kids' department where we assumed they belonged. Later that day, the jeans came back--they weren't kids' after all, they were a junior size 00! I hadn't even known there was such a size before that. No kidding...these pants could've fit a second-grader.

Women who wear 00 have a very small frame...they're usually really petite (in height) too... They exist, especially in Asia.
