Law & Order SVU -- Sat, 1/7

Can anyone tell me how it ended? I saw Stabler get shot, and then MysticCat Jr woke up from a nightmare and I missed the rest.

Thanks.

The nasty mouthed woman from the gun shop shot the kid who was getting ready to kill Stabler. Turns out she was an undercover Federal Agent.

Some members of the White Supremicist group smuggled guns into the courtroom by having fake or stolen credentials and badges.

She (the agent) apologizes to Fin and Munch (who was wounded in the butt), who accept.

Olivia asks Stabler if his wife has been notified -- he says no, and please don't because she has filed divorce papers.

Anyone remember anything else?

When they were going through the metal detector, I noticed one "bailiff" who appeared to pass by the camera a little too prominently, so I wasn't that surprised when he was one who pulled out a gun.

Thanks for filling me in. I hate getting left hanging like that.

The undercover agent found a whole bunch of isht on this group and some other dirt. The Rikers prison guard and his wife that lost their kid had a $750K insurance policy on him. A HUGE portion of it was going to the hate group. The guard and his wife also filed bankruptcy

The guard and his wife needed the $

Did anyone else see tonight's (4/4/06) edition? Did anyone else get the feeling that there may be romance down the line for Stabler and Olivia?

I cannot be the only Law & Order: SVU junkie here!

I'm all for it!!!!! :D

But I'm actually surprised that they never worked her pregnancy into the storyline. I say this because last year, after she got married, there was an article I read (either with her interviewing or the producers) and one or the other basically said they had a "storyline" ready to go when Mariska came to them and said "I'm pregnant". So I'm pretty upset that they didn't write it in considering Mariska is going to be gone for like 6 episodes (while she's on maternity leave) and they are bringing someone else in. Boo.

Maybe the storyline will include Elliott? Or am I just too rosy-eyed?

They didn't write it in because for the character it wouldn't make sense. Olivia continuously makes references to how she was the child of rape and that she doesn't want to pass on her genes. Also, if I remember correctly, Olivia was also raped. Mariska has said publicly that she's glad they didn't write it in, because it wouldn't be true to her character.

Also, with tonight's episode, and Olivia asking for another partner, there might be some feelings on Eliot's side. I don't think Olivia reciprocates, as she doesn't seem to have very many romantic relationships with men.

There's quite a large contingent of fans that believes Olivia and Alex Cabot had a (offscreen, hinted but never stated) lesbian relationship.

Oh, I didn't mean that. I just meant that she didn't seem to form strong romantic attachments to men. I think she's attracted to men, but either growing up knowing she was a circumstance of rape or the fact that I think she stated that she was raped herself have limited her relationships with men to be either platonic or very fleeting.

But on the opposite side of things. Elliott was the one saying that he needed a new partner. She might not reciprocate the feelings as much as Elliott but she does obviously care about her partner because she did say "I would have done the same thing".

I mean for both of them, it wasn't an option, they were going to chose their partner first.

I personally thinkg that the reason Elliott was like "I have to have a new partner" because when she got cut, it was obvious in his face that he was scared. Just like when he yelled at her. He wasn't really mad at her, but at the situation and the fact that his feelings for her came rushing to the surface and he really didn't know how to deal with them.

I mean since we're talking the characters, if we are looking at the fact that the shows been on the air for what, like 7-8 seasons, we know that the characters were partners prior to that, so a good 9-10 years of being partners, you're going to develop feelings of some kind.

I just think Olivia respected his request for a new partner and went to Cragan.

(Sorry, I tend to get insightful on some episodes and the lines said or the looks given. I'm a dork, I actually just notice these sort of things right away. Maybe I should be an editor since I tend to pay such close attention. LOL. Defintately pays more than I make right now).

I think the only bad thing about this episode is the fact that this leads into Mariska going on her maternity leave and we won't be seeing her either at all or barely for like the next 6 episodes.

Hopefully the writers, when Mariska comes back from maternity leave, will attempt to resolve these "feelings" (but I have a feeling it won't be done right away but you never know). I do think that by the end of the season they will be back to being partners.

Speaking of fans I read something, just recently with Mariska and Chris talking about the show and their characters, they are very much aware that their is a HUGE fan base that wants their characters together. Their fear was that by putting the characters together would take away from the show, but they had a little "inkling" of "that might be interesting, but I don't know".

I'm hopeful that the writers won't cave and end up putting Elliot and Olivia together. I really believe that it will water down the show. :(

The tension and suspense from last night's show caused me to watch some scenes with my hands over my eyes. :o

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks this is a horrible idea. One of the best parts of the show (and one of the reasons it's so successful, esp w/all the spin offs) is that you can sit down and watch any episode at any time and it makes sense. You don't have to watch them in any specific order to understand what's going on. It's also a genius idea in that they can get rid of or add characters at any time with little need for "explanation". If they added a romance in, it would take all that away.

Well, the story line and back-story they've developed for Alex on "Conviction" would seem to undercut that speculation.

Yes but remember this is the same producer who outed Serena on her last L & O after she'd made about a jillion references to boyfriends. Har. I think that was just to give her some semblance of being something other than a blank piece of paper.

It's not MY opinion (Alex & Olivia), just one that floats out there in the OH MY GOD I LOVE L & O BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE BEYOND universe.
