Recommendations for Fall 2006 Recruitment (Texas, etc.)
The Katy, Texas Area Alumnae Panhellenic has scheduled events for women interested in going through sorority recruitment in fall 2006 or spring 2007. They can help with getting recommendations, and will have information about sororities. If you are from the Katy, Texas area, see their schedule at
http://katypanhellenic.org/_wsn/page2.html The first event is Monday, February 13, 2006. Edited to add: There's a little more info on the schedule of events, as well as a form to use to registyer with the Katy Alumnae Panhellenic, on their site at http://katypanhellenic.org/_wsn/page5.html (You may need to scroll down a little to get to the rush/recruitment info and the registration form.) _______________ NOTE: Recommendations are very desirable at most colleges and universities in Texas, and at a lot of out-of-state schools that many Texas women attend (LSU, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and so on). No matter what you personally think about recommendations, this is the way it's done in Texas and at many schools, especially in the SEC (Southeastern Conference). So if you're in the Katy area, do yourself a favor and get in touch with their Area Alumnae Panhellenic. |
Plano- Richardson Alumnae Panhellenic will hold an information session Saturday February 25, 2-4pm at Frankford Middle School.
Sorry I don't have the website available right now, but I'll see if I can locate it. |

I helped out at the Houston Alumnae Panhellenic Association event this weekend-- WOW! We had two sessions and both were packed with PNMs, their moms and even a few dads! It was wonderful! I got to meet some fantastic alumnae from so many different sororities.

In addition to information sessions, do any of these alumnae panhellenics give scholarships or other awards to meet the outstanding high school women in your area?

Denver Area Panhellenic also gives scholarships to enrolled collegiate sorority women, but what about creating a program to recognize outstanding high school women in your area?
If you didn't want to give scholarships, you could give certificates of merit or book awards as prizes. The applications would allow our Panhellenic members to meet the best high school women in our areas and hopefully encourage the winners to go Greek! |

At the Houston meeting, they mentioned that not enough women apply for the scholarship! PNM's should take the home town advantage!
