Is it Me?
Before you ask...Yes I am a Que!
Is it me or does anyone else feel emotional when you hear "Omega Dear". I just heard it online and I can remeber hearing it before I crossed and I thought " nice song", but no special feeling. Now that I've crossed each time I hear it (may be because of the times its sang) I am almost moved to tears what do yall think? Quote:

I am an Alpha. When I was an aspirant, I had never heard the Alpha Hymn before. My first event that I attended for my home chapter was a founders day luncheon. Well, because the room was small, when the bros sang the hymn at the end, they ended up making a circle around the seated guests (mostly wives, relatives, and me).
I was very emotional when I heard it. And I was probably just as emotional the first time I sang it with my chapter. And because I am a wus, I usually get emotional when I hear other people's songs too. :p |
"Omega Dear" is the most beautiful fraternity hymn. I do get emotional when I hear (and sing) it;but I've known many women who say the same thing. I've seen women tear up when "Omega Dear" is sung. And it has such a special pedigree, written by the late Dr. W. Mercer Cook, Prof. of French at Howard and an US Ambassador to Senegal. It was said of him that "he spoke English with a French accent." And the it was also penned by the late Dr. Charles Drew, Prof. of Surgery at Howard and pioneer of blood storage during WWII. They wrote this while they were undergrads at Amherst College. These brothers were among out "black princes."
