That Makings of a Sorority Girl...
Good Morning Ladies
I am a young lady who doesnt have any affilation with any greek organizations but I have been thinking that I will look at the benefits of joining such an organization. At school I am actively involved with my Student Government Asociation, my Residence Hall Association and I have served on the board of the Community Action Network which puts together the camous wide community service events that the school does twice a year... My GPA is above average And I have always tried to go and support any event that a greek org does. I guess what I wanna know is there a certain type of woman or girl that makes up a sorority girl? Can any Tammy, Diane and Harriet off the street become a sorority girl? I know that for every org some peceptions may be different... (which is why I am asking this question of every NPHC org that is at my school)... If there is a better way for me to ask this kinda of question than on a message board, please let me know... Thank You for your time Chanel... |

That's cute how you titled it differently for the Zeta, AKA, Delta, and by the time I am responding to this post, S G Rho forum as well. :) For me a sorority woman/member is a leader or has strong leadership qualities and will further develop those qualities while involving herself in XYZ sorority. I would urge you to ask yourself: What do I have to offer XYZ? Would I really be committed for life to XYZ? See our DST in the news thread for a Soror who is 104 years old. :) What sets you apart from other interests in the D9 sororities? This is just me, but a lady does not advocate drug use, and a sorority woman or sorority interest does not either. Happy New Year!:) P.S. I just finished reading Dorothy Height's autobiography, I invite you to read it. :D |
Well I didnt think that anyone would take the siggy so seriously I thought it was just a jokey joke. I am from Texas and matter of fact the area where UGK is from so that is on Heavy Rotation right now...
The school that I attend doesnt have SGRhos anymore but I guess it would be right for me to pose that question to them also... |

I'm from Cleveland, and used to like Bone Thugs N Harmony, but wouldn't dare post lyrics from "First of the Month" in my signature. Why? Like BTB87 said, "perception." I wish you well. :) |
wow I didnt know that... well I guess you can do whatever to this post then... thank you

I've got a bit of time before my hair appt so let me help you for a second: 1. Be discreet. That includes location, school, and sorority interest. This world is small and I have seen folks change their mind from ABC to DEF in 2 weeks' time. What Discretion Means To Me 2. Don't allow the people on the internet to be the determining factor of which organization you pursue. 3. There are a lot of old threads that can show you the way. Read each of the D9 forum's announcements for guidelines of posting in each forum. 4. No duplicate topics. Normally I delete any in the Delta forum. :) I think that's it. Usually I am meaner, lol. :o :p |
Soror, she must've caught you on a good day!! lol
p.s.-- although i don't advocate drug use, that Bun B song is my jam and is also in heavy rotation...but don't tell nobody |
