New Delt Loan Program...
I suspect other Nationals have similar -- or even better -- programs.
Given the number of fatal and property damage fires, this is important, I think... "New Loan Program Announced! Need to install a sprinkler system? To assist our house corporations with the purchasing and installation of fire sprinklers and/or other life safety equipment, the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity Board of Directors recently authorized a new loan program. House corporations may borrow money from the Delta Tau Delta Loyalty Fund at a fixed 4% interest rate for up to 7 years." From www.delts.org |
Great for DTD!
LXA has the same program but in OLD Homes, it does get extremly costly!:( Well if means the pipes are hidden instead of hanging from the ceilling! |
Glad to see the Delts offering new programs.
I am also impressed by the fullness of their Annual Report in the recent magazine. Good news: Initiates up 8.2%, most ugs since 1990 5 new charters The honesty is also appreciated (and rare in GLO magazines): Pledges down 3.2% 4 chapters/colonies closed Also liked seeing a list of chapters needing advisors, and email contacts. Could be very productive. |
What a great program! My grandfather would be proud! (He was a Delt at Tulane).

That's a great program at nice interest rate.
I am still perturbed at KD's program for loans for housing improvements. We really wanted to redo a lot of our suite, parts of it were in pretty bad condition. The interest rate on the loan was NINE percent through our HQ. I was really upset over that, because the point of it is to help the chapters. Nine percent interest isn't really helping anyone. To my knowledge, all housing type loans go through there and there's no special fund for things like sprinklers. Though I could just be in the dark, because we lived in on campus suites. |

We would think that with the Number of People in Memberships that Nationals would have a little more barginning power with Loan institutions and something that would help lower Insurance rates for all of us who are in Housing of Chapters. I just wonder since there is supposed to be a great intermingling of IFC and NPC that something as a Major Group effort could be worked out. Just a thought.:) |

If a Group Recruits 10 and Initiates 10 then, it is 100%. I am sure all of us would love to do just that.:) If You recruit 10 and Initiate 1. Well, there is a problem. So Those Recruited are Initiated!:D Maybe that is the crux of the problem. Get the ones You want and make sure they get to become Full Members! |

The chapter's advisors should include quality people, who can go to a bank/credit union, tell the story, and get a loan. When the "natl." has a high interest rate, it forces the local chapters to try locally first. If the local banks won't make the loan, the "natl." office 800 miles away probably shoulldn't either. There's no "natl." that can afford to loan $$ to many chapters. |

2414 pledges (21.5 per chapter) 2026 initiates 83.927% Roughly, for every 24 pledges, 20 are initiated. 6127 undergraduates, 112 chapters 54.7 guys per chapter There is some margin of error, since the four DTD colonies may/may not be included in the manpower numbers. |

The Larger holds more Power to get Financing, ergo LCAP. See the LXA Web Site. It is not The IHQ who is doing this but Financing from a larger Entity. Now if I stated early a consortium of GLOs were working together as they can on a National Basis!! |

I don't believe a bid should be extended to someone that won't accept it. I don't believe a pledge should ever drop out. Take their checks immediately once they accept to pledge (once you put your money where your mouth is, you are more serious) and work with the pledges to initiate. Obviously they saw something about the fraternity that piqued their interest so why not make sure they do get that interest fulfilled. -Rudey |
