Help with selecting wine for a gift!

I don't drink wine, so I know nothing about it.

I'd like to get one of my bosses a bottle of wine. I know after asking around that he likes cabernets. I'm looking to spend about $25-35 on it, as the funds are a bit limited (also due to the fact that i have several bosses).

Anyone have suggestions?

Louis Martini Cab - the Napa should be in the $30 range

Make sure you get the high end - there are three separate ranges (the Sonoma is the low end).

Rodney Strong or Louis Jadot are usually pretty good.

Yes, this is sexist, but...

Yes! Go to one of the NICE State Stores (Village Square comes to mind, but not the one at Robinson Town Centre), look around, look a little lost, and when you see a good looking guy without a wedding band, ask him! Tell him that you're buying this for your boss, that you want something upscale but not trashy.

OR, go to one of the very nice restaurants in town immediately after work (but before dinner), look for a man that seems somewhat sophisticated - again, no wedding band - and ask his opinion. You may end up sampling a glass together!

This is one of life's greatest moments for the non-attached woman!

Thanks for the advice, everyone! I'll have to check them out.

Though honey might have the best advice of all ;)

My recommendation

Unless I'm too late and you've already acted on honey's advice...

I highly recommend either the Treana red or the Liberty School Cabernet
