As for the Yahoo group, you have to apply to get in. Looks like they have been around since 2001.

Group has been around since 1996 when the first Pinfest get together occurred in the DC or VA area. This summer will be 10th annual. Another 5,000+ badges will be displayed. Board was created in 1999 and later disbanded by creator due to threats. A private, member only board was created in 2001. Good people, many of whom are active national volunteers and officers are involved in this!!

Board is by invitation only.

No, mostly the site is used for information sharing. Help identifying badges, date look ups (many have membership directories from way back when etc). There are a lot of local badges we find and we often help each other locate history of group etc. I now have a badge from most of the locals which were once on my campus - most of which eventually joined NPC and NIC groups.

Some post photos but maybe we pictures of pins vs. what the grand total is that everyone actually owns.

Was a member on that site and was kicked off!

Was asked by another Member to Re-Join and was refused.:(

Oh Well, some of the snobbier one seems to abound even though I know some of the Collectors Members. They are cool People for the most part!

It unto it self is a great bunch of People. I was told that I was booted out because I collected only LXA and Related Badges.

ebayfan, am I correct in this statement?:)

There are some beautiful Badges/Pins held by these Members and they do respect them very much!

While I only have @ 85 Badges, I have some very nice ones and am damn proud to have them!

They are treated with Respect as they should be.

Tom,

Sort of. Nothing personal though! We booted a whole bunch of people who only collect (or mainly collect) their own group. The only annoying ones were members of a non-NPC or non-NIC group. Those people never shut up about their collecting of that one group. UGH!!!

But seriously Tom, we still like you. And when we need a shot of "Earpism", we come to Greekchat.
